After a jam packed weekend in Singapore we went back to Kuala Lumpur this time into the city to where people actually loved and worked lol. Our hotel was amazing and we were staying on the 20th floor with great views over the city. We had a roof top pool and there was the roof top bar too called Luna. If found the bar on the internet but didn't realise it was in our hotel so that was a great bonus. In the cab to the hotel we spotted a Nandos and TGI Fridays 2 of our favourite places!! We couldn't resist TGis so went there for dinner and it felt like being back at home (slightly different to sitting in the One in Basildon though!!) we had an early dinner that night and an early night so we could get out and do things the next couple of days. However day one didn't go to plan we went looking for Nndoss and exploring but couldn't find it anywhere and then there was a huge storm, like nothing we have ever seen before the roads were flooding in minutes and I've never ever heard thunder and lightning like it, I was
a tad scared!! We got stuck in a tiny shopping centre across the road from our hotel so ran for it when it died down but still looked like we'd just walked out the shower by the time we got back!!! We chilled for a bit and got ready for the evening, we planned to go for dinner and have a browse but us being us, there was a power cut in our hotel!! We waited about 45 minutes but nothing happened so went to reception totally not realising we'd be locked out once we shut the door (idiots I know!!) and in true katie style I was wearing my bright legging PJ bottoms and a plain t shirt with my hair like Monica from Friends when it goes all frizzy (the joke came back to bite me on the arse Callahan haha) so yea we are locked out of the room and in reception and I look like a multicoloured scarecrow!! And to top it off brad looked fine in jeans and a t shirt so decided we should just go for dinner. All I can say is thank god we were in Kuala Lumpur and no one knew
me I've never been so embarrassed lol. After dinner we headed back and after 2 hours the electricity was back on so that was one eventful day!!!
We got up the next morning though and headed out looking for a new bag for me as my silly tiny bag is just too small and I've given up on a rucksack and going for a hold all on wheels lol. I've never seen so many shopping malls in one city they were everywhere and absolutely huge!!! And of course they didn't have my bag so that definitely didn't impress Brad!! We have up shopping and went to the hotel to chill around the pool for a bit, it was so surreal being on the 34th floor in a roof top pool in the middle of such a busy city, you wouldn't have known what was below at all!!! It was our last night before flying yo Australia so we booked dinner at the KL Tower which was a revolving restaurant about 250 meters high. When we got up there there was a guy singing playing the piano and then all the tables around the edge and dinner was a buffet.
At first I think both of us thought uh oh a buffet!! But it was amazing, Matt and Alex you would have loved it!!! There was fresh seafood with prawns, oysters and crabs and then a sushi section in top of the usual things like soups, satays, spring rolls, salads and then the main meals were a mixture of curries, noodle, and we went for the meat that was carved in front of us with roasted vegetables it was so good!!! And desert was heaven loads of mini cakes coconut, chocolate, cream everything we definitely were in our element. On top of the great food we had an amazing view including their twin towers and the sky line was great. You will be able to see it in a couple of the pictures I'm putting up. We finished dinner and headed to the hotel to the Luna Bar as we couldn't not go there with it being in our hotel!! The vibe was great the swimming pool was lit up and the music was going we loved it. And to make it even better we went on a Wednesday night which in Asia seems to be 'ladies night' in all e bars and restaurants so I had cocktails on tap for free all night!! Girls it was great haha. I definitely would have taken advantage of it more if we weren't flying the next day!! It was such a good night though, a wicked way to finish off our time in Asia, an amazing 2 and half months that's I know neither of us will ever forget!! We've seen so much and I'd definitely say learnt a lot too our eyes being opened to a lot and minds being broadened even looking back on the experience between Vietnam and Cambodia is one we are both laughing at now!! Quite a few people have asked us what our favourite part has been and I'd definitely say the elephant trek and meeting kids in Cambodia were up there, of course with my birthday in the amazing island but it's all been great, we have loved it all and I know we will definitely be visiting Thailand again!!
So now we are onto the next part of our trip and I'm writing this from Marcia, Ken and Janes garden in Melbourne!! It's so surreal finally being here but we love it already it feels like London so much! So I will update you on getting here next
Lots of love B&K xxxxxxx
