Coconut anyone ??? We caught a night bus to Kuala Terengganu leaving 9pm arriving 5:30am. Arggh! Probably wont do that again. All those of you who think my drving is poor: You aint seen nothin yet! These guys are shocking and I saw in the news that another bus from the same company crashed on a similar route yesterday killing two.
We taxied to Kenyir lake, bordering on Taman Negara Nat. park, which we hope to see more of later. A short boat ride takes you to tree lined islands and wierd creatures that seem a world away from civilisation.
The taxi driver is hilarious and even insisted I drive some of the way. He asked if we might let him drive us tomorrow also. Sure enough he was waiting at our Guest house in the morning and drove us to the beach. We were unable to ride to an island as they are closed until February. So we picknicked with a local Muslim family and tried their food. These woman said (with our taxi driver poorly translating) that we would be very welcome to marry locals and live here. Even offering to show us some loacl homes for sale. I gracefully declined.

Dairy Farming malaysia Style in Kuala Terengganu wandering the markets I noticed Chris and I must have been the only white people for miles and within thousands of others, not that we found it intimidating though - in fact most people smiled, a lot said hello, and some wished to talk. I sat on a park bech for 30 mins and was approached by two different groups of people who just wanted to talk. What a friendly town
