Background: During the late 18th and 19th centuries, Great Britain established colonies and protectorates in the area of current Malaysia; these were occupied by Japan from 1942 to 1945. In 1948, the British-ruled territories on the Malay Peninsula formed the Federation of Malaya, which became independent in 1957. Malaysia was formed in 1963 when the former British colonies of Singapore and the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo joined the Federation. The first several years of the country's history were marred by Indonesian efforts to control Malaysia, Philippine claims to Sabah, and Singapore's secession from the Federation in 1965.

Originally from Klang, I grew up with eating nice food... especially Bah Kut Teh. Traditionally Bah Kut Teh is pork meat that serve with herbal soup and rice. For muslim, one can order Chi Kut Teh which uses chicken meat. Bah Kut Teh also comes with dry Bah Kut Teh which has been popular ever since it has been release. There's an area which is call Taman Rasnah, just before the Klang toll, that is popular with Bah Kut Teh. Also there's a Bah Kut Teh shop behind the Hokkien Association which is one of the most famous shop where many [View Full Entry]

Upon arriving at Klang station we were greeted by Kevin (who is my cousin) and we did some catching up on the way back to the house where the brood had swelled since my last visit! We quickly got acquainted with the new arrivals in the family. It was a little bit of a surprise as I really was only aware that Pat and Kevin had two kids so the extra one was a little shock! We have spent most of our time in KL and the surrounding areas as all of Malaysia and the Islands that we had hoped to [View Full Entry]
