Kota Kinabalu and Brunei Respite

...a short yet fun-filled trip to Brunei and Kota Kinabalu. We have learned a lesson (the hard way) when we traveled to Brunei with no hotel accommodation. We thought that it would just be easy for us to book a hotel upon arrival ignoring the fact that it was the start of Ramadan. We've waited for several minutes in the airport calling possible hotels only to be informed that all rooms are taken. Add to our experience, the airport ran out of cabs...we have to wait for 15 minutes. While waiting, we met 3 kind-hearted Filipinos who invited us to stay for a night at their place.
