So then after just about writing my last blog in a woozy (to say the least) state headed off the the bus stop got their no buses to penang from their so batered with a taxi to drop mew to some random stop just outside of town. Got their about half 12 got a bus didnt leave til half 2. So I slowly died and melted in the heaty for two hours before my bus arrived. Got on their another bleeding muslim bus wtf! Sat in my seat in the back corner (this bus was alright) until after an hour or so into the 7 hour trip the a/c unit above my head started to drip and drip and drip......on my leg for five friggin hours! This combined with the ajnt colony living in the alpostry by my head wasnt my favourite bus journey of all time. Off the bus then jumped into a taxi to a hostel in Georgetown recommended in my bible (cheers ben would be lost without it) lonly planet on a shoestring. Booked into this place called the new banana around half 9. Then sorted out my transport/things to do/see to ko phi phi for a couple of days time by the time I did that had a beer I was shot so headed to bed, I needed a good keep. At 18 Ringit (3 quid) for the rom I thought I had a steal, the room was nice had a fan trhen came the kicker, right outside the main road of never ended motorbikes had the shittiest nights sleep.

Woke the next morning transfered to another room in the main building queen bed for 25 Ringit (4 quid). As you can see from the first day pics from panag hill big old bags under the eyes. So weaited for a bus got hassled for a dollar by a tramp as I waited for the bus which never fookin came so jumped in a taxi to penang hill to get some great views of the city. Got to Penang Hill took some crazyilly long uphill tram to the top took around half hour was totally worth it though the views were stunning. Wandered rund up here for a bit saw a temple a cannon had a genral mosy before headed back down.

Got back then had some ace food from a little stall just outside my hostel had some funky green jelly eggs with brains in then - was different! Then showered up had a power nap after my shit sleep from the night before then woke up for my statutory bottle of tiger. Beer in Malaysia was relativly expensive in comparison to the rest of asia (bout a pound a bottle). Styated watching inter vs siena (maccerone was playing and scored) then two lads james and chris came over with an ozzie lad nathan got chatting had a couple of games of pool then headed off to some bars for more beer. As I said abit pricy though so after a couple headed to the 7/11 for a couple of bottles of tiger and back to the lads hostel/brothel for a game of cards on the balcony. They taught me this game shithead was good fun and the loser ran for drinks and chips, james lost both james after that headed back to the hostel around three but agreed to meet up tomorrow to see some more of penang.

Woke up at 11 met the boys around 12 in the hostel had some breakfast then james and chris were heading off to KL. So me and nathan headed down the beach for the day after a 45 minute trip we go their the sea looked abit shitty so insted blagged our way into the holiday in for an ozzie/welsh mini olympics. He beat me at both water volleyball and ping pong (bloody ozzies lol). Headed to a bar on the front then had a copule of beer and abit of grub before heading back. Had the crazziest bus trip back big fat kid around 16 barking to get on this bs quickly so we hop on, no meter just the kid collecting cash and himand the driver are just shouting at each other the whole way. Then randomly half way tthough he shuts at us to get on this other bus so we all do this stops at the jetty had to jump on another bus to get home, only paid the once tho! Agreed to meet u in a couple of hours for some beers. Went online and saw I guy Wayne who I met in KL was in Penang so said to meet up for some jars - he hollars sown from across the internet cafe - so we went to the hostel to meet nathan for some more beers and pool and abit of grub. Had a laugh met a guy from sweden who was staying in ko tao and aranged to meet up thier. Hit the hey then around 2.

Woke up met around 12 again headed off to the snake temple. Was bloody nuts had a python thingy round my neck and a couple of smaller poisonous ones on my head (still drunk I think). Had alittle nosry round the other snakes then wantyed a couple of piccys with the monkey so craddling him all nice, then he statrs to shuffle around. The little shit reaches into my pocket and steals my sunnies! So hes thier eating my shades trying to snap them then nathan snatches them back, the money was fuming hissing and staring him down, was funny as! Headed off to the aqaurium which was quite cruel all these fish crampwed together in tiny tanks felt quite bad for them. Went back then and agreed to all meet up in an hour. Had a couple of beers but the place was so flat no music or atomsphere so wayne wasnt feeling it and headed back. I had some torro left from Kl so me and nathan started on that. Natthan proposed we had two options the first to talk to two decent looking birds by the window, or the second the lanky nerdy looking guy on his own. So we went to go for the girls, as we were walking over ready to break the ice they walk off! So eaded for the other guy on his own Sammy. Weird guy had our first in depth debate since ive been here he was a computer geek who had jus been laid off by yahoo and was spending his money travelling fair enough. Burt then was going to head home and live on the dole for a year and travel round on the cash. Me and nathqan struggled with him attitude of scrounging off the state but he was unfazed.

After another bottle of torro from the 7/11 headed into town (which was shit) walked into the bar carrying the whisky in a coke bottle and nathan somehow managed to smooth talk them that we werent going to drink from the bottle. The Malysian people are so nice though he just said I trust you and carried on. So as we got battered off the whisky we started talking to the only two women in thew wholew place from yorkshire, while sammy pounded everyone in sight on the foosball table. The music was trash so requested a couple of classics from the dj (guns and roses, bon jovi) got our rock on til it closed1 Afrter this the girls bough us some more beers and sat up with them til four and then ghad to mad rush back to pack our bags to get on the bus for a 10 hour trip to ko phi phi. So said our goodbyes pinched thier doritoes and got out and ready just in time for the bus at five. So me and nathan off to Ko phi phi (where the film the beach was filmed) will let you know what happens next time in the adventures of Thomas.
