Morning in the highlands
Wake up 15 minutes before my alarm and enjoy the lay-in. It's still cold, but not as cold as yesterday. Takes 5 minutes after my alarm goes off to get motivated to take a hot shower, but it's worth it.
Breakfast ralti from a street vendor and catch the bus. The scenery is spectacular, but I sped my time sleeping or reading. Before the last stop I get talking to a Swiss girl (Judith) and we arrange to meet up for dinner.
It takes 05h15 to get here, Judith and I share a taxi even though we're heading in opposite directions. I would have walked it, but it's only 3 ringgit for the ride and Judith pays. I get dropped on Lebuh Chulia, the backpacker street.
First place I look at is 15 ringgit a night, but no wi-fi in the room, the second is 20 and has wi-fi, the third has no rooms and the forth is similar, but better than the second except everything smells of cigarettes. I take the second place.
Dump my bag and head out for some food. There's a local's cafe nearby that does a meal for 4 ringgit; half the

Lebuh Chulia
The street in China town that I'm staying on
cost of yesterday and easily twice as good. Back to check e-mails and nap. I have the worlds squeakiest bed.
It's dark before I get motivated enough to leave my room again.
I need some fresh air to clear my head and I pick a direction that'll take me to the sea front. It's an island so I'm not really limited for directions to choose. I choose the shortest.
Its a nice night and I the streets are fairly empty. I see a lot of the town that I like. Even the ladies of the night are better dressed and vocal than other towns I've been to. I try finding a bar to get a drink and read my book, but the places I pass are dead. By the time I dig out my LP I'm hungry instead of thirsty and grab a bite from a street vendor/restaurant.
A beer would have cost me 17 ringgit, almost as much as my room for the night.
I stop for a carton of Milo and head back to my room. I talk to the girl in the room next to me (Alia Ramli Ramli, Malaysia) and upload some photos.
Skype and a seven hour time difference is not conducive to an early night.
