Leeches and Rain !!!!

Yip the title sums up Taman neagara national park (nah just kidding its a lot more enjoyable than that !!!) i got attcked by a few of the wee blighters and they can really take there fair share of blood !!!!! But the park itself was beautiful with lush rain forest (emphasis on the rain !!!) sadly though its quite commercialised and not what a kiwi such as myself would consider a national park. The boat ride in and out and the canopy walk where you walk through the rain forest at heights of up to 10m above groundlevel were definate highlights.Although one slightly aggravating thing was that alot of the tracks werent marked very well and we assumed that was so youd need a paid guide (about 12nnzd pp) to go down them

We stayed the night before in a town called jerantut which seems to basically servie the national park as all its tourism industry revolves around it. Haydn and I got usehered into a small side of the road bar by two friendly malaysian sisters who proceeded to sirt down with us and watch us play kings and arseholes and take photos of us on there cell phones they only seemed to have about 5 words of english though so we couldnt really spark up a yarn, which was dissapointing and when there father returned it was back behind the bar to work for them !!!

So by all means if you dont mind a bit of baltant commercialism (and dont get me wrong the service was fantastic) then by all means spend some time in Taman Neagra but if your against that then maybe find somewhere else to go jungle bashing !!!!
