After almost 2 months on party Phi Phi island we desperately needed to relax in a quiet enviroment where not much is going on... Langkawi in Malaysia suited us perfectly... The beach is about 2km long - a fairly wide strip of off white sand.... The water is not really clear, but still very nice to swim in. The sunsets were breath taking every single day we were there - which was more than a week. We immediately felt a different energy about the place compared to Phi Phi - where it's always - go go go... I needed to do my visa run after 60 days in Thailand and wanted to visit a place in Malaysia I haven't seen - so Langkawi came handy :o) We did an island hopping trip - we were attacked by a group of monkeys who were after our bags where we had our cameras and money - so it wasn't the most pleasant experiance... The monkeys were doing hissing sounds while looking in our eyes and showing teeth like a dog before an attack... I had a monkey hanging off my bag I held in the air biting it - trying to get the contents... My friend had to leave her rucksack on the floor as a group of monkeys attacked her and opened the bag taking out and biting every single thing... Luckily some people saw what was happening and started to throw stones and that helped in the end - but the monkeys outnumbered the people.... We met a few people bitten by moneys who had to take rabies injections, so we were really lucky not to end that way too...
