Don't mess with the local policeI must have been a little puzzled, was driving the car on the wrong side of the road. Police didn't find it as funny as I and handed over a nice gift ... a Malay traffic ticket. I invited them to some
... [more]Greetings to all you beautiful people ... Everything's fine, everything's under control, life is good I hope. For us two lazy vagabonds, the sun is shining bright, we still enjoy travelling although we sometimes miss you .. but I have said this before, so of course u know it. In the meantime we reached Malaysia and enjoy the relaxed laid-back atmosphere on the Peninsula (mainland). We decided to stray along the east coast, check the quality of water and sand on the beaches, interview the locals, taste some spicy food samples and ... take care of no business (for the moment).
Frankly speaking, Malaysia appears not as spectacular to us as the previous places (which does not mean that it's not nice of course). Since it's much more developed, structured than the rest of Southeast-Asia, eveything's just so simple ... sooo one has really to seek the danger and adventure. Few words in case u dunnot know much about it ... Malaysia is a multi-cultural society. Islam is recognized as the official religion of the country, however Malaysia remains a secular state. Halal - not haraamvery important if you go shopping or eating :) But still no beer :( and I am so positive it is halal !!
most are Buddhists, Indians comprise 7 percent of the population, small number identify as Christian, the remaining part the population is made up of Eurasians, migrant workers who are mostly Indonesian, and various ethnic. The country celebrated 50 years of independance in 2007 after being colonized and occupied by the Brits, the Dutch and the Japanese during world war 2. Malaysia is very well endowned with natural ressources, economy and tourism are doing very well, in 1970 it joined the community of Tiger economies.
Aah, talking tiger ... with a little luck we might be able to catch some glimpse of Tigers, Elephants, Orang-Utans and the extreeeemly dangerous Sumatra meerkat (Erdmaennchen) in the famous National Parks where we intend to stay the next days. So, here adventure is coming :)
Enough for the moment, my daily rice bowl just being served ... dinnertime now.
Have a great time and always think about the objective of the day ... which iiiis ... to have some serious fun !
Yalla bye, Tony und Irina
