Under Singapore Eye.
Went to Singapore yesterday, managed the border crossing from JB easily without luggage. Got the hop on hop off bus for a look around then went to Boomarang Bistro on Robertson Quay to check if they are showing 2nd State of Origin on Wednesday. very nice place, must hold around 300 or so people, good food & Tony got Bundy rum so was happy. We will be back there on Wednesday for the match. Singapore is quite different to Thailand, much cooler & more western but still very asian. The people were friendly & we noticed how many young people there are. Went to Bugis which is the largest market area in Singapore with 600 stalls. The Bugis mall is very modern. When we went back to the Queen St bus depot to get the bus back to Johor there was a queue of about 200 people & although the buses were very frequent when a young Indonesian couple who live in JB mentioned they were getting the train instead they invited us to tag along.we went to the MRT at Bugis & it cost 3.60$S each for a ticket to Kranji. After 12 stops we changed trains & went another 5

stops so the trip took about 30 minutes to Kranji then we had to put our tickets back into a machine which gave us a 50 sen coin for the bus trip to the immigration centre as the bus driver does'nt handle any money. You have to drop the money into a clear plastic jar as you get on & he gives you a ticket. We continued on to exit Singapore through the border control & board another bus { still the same ticket} which took us across the bridge connecting Singapore & Malaysia & into immigration at JB sentral where we finally got a cab to our hotel.Sounds complicated but only takes about an hour & is very streamlined as they process hundreds of thousands of people every day.We found out that we can organise a cab for our departure on Thursday which will pick us & our luggage from our hotel take us through passport control where we don't have to get out of the cab & drop us at Changi airport.Sounds the way to go!!! We had an easy day today, almost missed breakfast as my watch said it was 9.10 when it was really 10.25 so had
