Okay, tried to update this a couple days ago but the Lao internet is not the greatest....
So here I am in Laos, it took around 24 hours, 4 different buses and a motorcycle to get me here, but it was all worth it.
The people here are very very friendly and everything is so much more laid back than anywhere else I have been in Asia so far.
I've been in Vientiene for the last couple days now but will hop on a bus to Vang Vieng in a few hours. Vientiene is the capital city, and largest city in Laos, but it sure doesnt feel that way. Vientiene only has around 200,000 people so it is much much more quiet than any other capital city I have ever been to.
We've done a bit of sight seeing around town here, my favorite part of visiting any country is to go to the markets, not only to see what's for sale, but to see the locals doing their day to day activities like shopping. The markets in South East Asia will almost always surprise you with what they have for sale, yesterday I was offered a cattle prod, then 5 seconds later Viagra, the cattle prod might have been useful in Vietnam with the insane about of people they have in the capital cities clustering the sidewalks.
I'm 2 months into the trip now, and having the time of my life, the first half has went by quite quickly, been full of ups and downs like everything in life but I'm excited to see what the next 2 months has in store.
