they're like floor tables but raised Today we switched to a room upstairs because a) it’s the same price and b) it’s bigger and has a balcony! We set out on a mission to find a tour for tomorrow or Sunday because today we decided not to tube as Ronald has to work in the evening and that would be totally lame if we went tubing but didn’t drink…so, we walked around asking for prices and found Wonderful Tours who we settled with. We wanted to do the multi-tour with kayaking, caving, trekking, and tubing, and most of the places offered it for 90,000 (except for Green Discovery which was like more than 200,000 kip because “they are a company with certificates”…that was my answer when I asked why theirs was so much more expensive) but seemed sorta risky, so when we found Wonderful Tours we were happy. The normal price was 120,000 each but since the tour already had 4 people, the price was lower. So we booked that for Sunday.
Before doing all of that, our first stop was to a cyber café (the internet in Jammee is too unreliable and slow to talk over Skype) so that I could change our flights to

delicious! Hanoi from Monday to Tuesday. Looks like we really needed to go out last night and book a tour for today, but we didn’t, so oh well. It cost $50 to change the flight and then when I got the confirmation email it was $100! So I was annoyed, but the man insisted he had told me it was per person and I didn’t feel like arguing too much, so just accepted it. Poor move in hindsight, but there you have it. So our flights are now leaving Vientiane on Tuesday around 13:00 and arriving safey in Hanoi an hour or so later.
After booking the tour we decided to get brunch and stopped at a nearby café that was playing Family Guy and had a
couple of sandwiches and smoothies. Seriously, I think the food here is amazing. The sandwic hes are in fresh baguettes and are stuffed with vegetables and the smoothies are so good. I mean, you can’t order a bad one. Yum.
Fast forward to the next time we ate: we got a regular pizza and a French bread pizza and it was super slow. They were playing Family Guy, there was an internet room in the back, and they were super slow! I just felt like saying it twice because we waited for ever and it wasn’t even that good when we got it.
Went back, showered, went back out for drinks around 24:00 when Ronald was finished working and found almost no one out apart from at Q bar, so we went to the place across from the Q bar so we could watch and not really have to be in the thick of things. The waiter promptly handed us a menu opened to the page entitled, “Let’s Get Wasted” that had a list of all of their drinks and a separate, laminated menu that was entitled, “Weed!”. On this menu they had three sections: ganja, opium, mushrooms. In the first section they offered shakes, pizzas, joints (20,000), and a bag. He showed us the joint and it was the size of his finger. For the other two sections, about the same minus the joint and bag. We got a Pina Colada (20,000), rum coke (20,000), gin tonic (20,000), and potato slices covered in cheese.
Q bar closed at 01:00, so we went home shortly after that.
