Sabadee! Travelling in beautiful Laos is a spiritual experience where nature and civilization seem to mold together into one. Luang Prabang is a simple town that is clean and has mountains in the backdrop. It's a tranquil setting that makes everybody feel peaceful. I love how it's not a tourist trap but more like a traveller's haven where there's a perfect balance of nature and civilization! Food is so delicious here and the culture is really rich. It reminds me of how Thailand used to be before all the tourists started swarming over. Peace and Love!
Green Technology If there’s one thing that scares me more than a homicidal clown running at me with scissors, it’s that Mother Nature can be a real bitch sometimes. She’s a fine lady, but at any given moment She’s capable of ripping our hearts out with her massive earthquakes and tsunamis. But I guess it’s fair because Mother Nature always finds a way to balance the world out. In the past 60 years, the human race has been exponentially hurting Mother Nature with new advancements in technology and thus upsetting the balance. The deforestation of millions of trees, toxic waste contaminating water,

a nice view of the river while eating lunch billions of barrels of oil to fuel our energy, atomic bombs, mountains of trash and the list is endless with the different ways we torture the earth. It makes me wonder how much abuse She’s going to take before striking back with all her might.
The recent BP oil spill that has been going on for 56 days now really opened up my eyes to how much damage we actually inflict on Mother Nature. I learned about the underwater world during my scuba diving experience and I discovered all the beauty hidden from us. The surface of the ocean looks calm and empty like a desert but underneath it is a whole universe of marine life. All I can picture is an underwater black plague coming to wipe out a whole aqua-city. It’s looking really bad and the worst part is that there still isn’t an answer on how to stop the oil spill. This could go on for another two months… the horror!
The home of thousands of species are dying away underwater, but the truth is, we don’t care all that much. Humans aren’t directly affected so it’s no big deal to us. The media
covers more about the loss of jobs than it does about the harm we’re doing to nature. If there was a big hurricane that wiped out a city, then a lot of donations and assistance would come pouring in to help the people. When humans hurt nature, we just feel a little bit guilty, but don’t feel compelled enough to help. And that’s why I feel like we lost our connection to nature. We’ve gradually separated ourselves from nature and only involved ourselves with human-related events. Our spiritual touch with nature has dissipated. From this oil spill, all we see is the black surface which separates the humans from nature. Although this is a catastrophe, I also believe this to be a catalyst for a greener future. We’re all teetering on the brink of an environmental change and this massive oil spill is the tipping point that will drive us towards that change. This is a wakeup call to the US, the biggest consumer of oil, to be the pioneers of a clean energy movement. This is the catalyst for a global change. This incident will be the defining moment for the human race to move towards green technology.
The best thing to happen for the human civilization is the invention of technology. It is a tool that has taken the human race so far in such a short amount of time. Unfortunately, the worst thing to ever happen for Mother Nature is also the invention of technology.
Our technology has been working against the natural order of the world. Nature shows us that there are at least two important laws in the world; everything is always changing and everything has a cycle to it. The circle of life, precipitation cycle and the earth’s orbit are all cycles which we live by. Our technology is rapidly changing but we failed to create a cycle where we can positively impact the environment. The problem is that we’ve been moving in a linear path in the human civilization. Technology has been moving upward as fast as possible while leaving a dark cloud of smoke behind. But now, I think our concept of technology is starting to move in a cycle. We’re starting to realize that if we leave a dark cloud of smoke behind in a cycle, we’ll be choking on it soon enough when we make a full round.
We live in a cycle in this world and the more we oppose it, the more we suffer.
Our movement towards intertwining technology with nature is going to take us to new heights. We’ll have cars that run on electricity, ‘forest cities’ where nature and civilization co-exist harmoniously, all products will be recyclable so there will be no more landfills, technology that turns our trash into energy, no more acid rain, no more polluted air and no more harm to the earth because of our existence. Our green movement will only grow stronger as our love for nature continually inspires new technology to preserve the world. There is so much hope for our green earth and it’s an exciting time to be alive as we move towards an era where technology will no longer be the destruction of nature, but instead, the key instrument that can connect human civilization back with the ‘Oneness of the World.’
For all the horrible things we’ve done to mother nature, I really hope She won’t retaliate. I hope the prophesied 2012 Armageddon won’t be the end of us because we’re just starting to learn the errors of our ways. We’re just
burning temple
they were brning stuff starting to awaken from our ignorance and really help the world become a better place. This is our second chance and every fiber in my body believes that there’s enough goodness and wisdom in the human race this time around to make a positive change in the new cycle. Our journey towards re-connecting with Mother Nature is starting right now and the most important thing for us to do : Go with the flow.
"We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do" -Barack Hussein Obama
