We were up and ready to go to Tad Sae Waterfall early. We had breakfast and head on down to Tad Sae Waterfall at about 10am. After a Tuck Tuck ride and a short boat ride we arrived at Tad Sae Waterfall. These waterfalls are made from limestone. Making its way through forest, it falls into hundreds of natural pools. This was amazing. We all take a short walk around and see the elephants walking through the pools. I decide I have to go on a elephant, Linda was not so keen. So I pay and get on to this beast of a mammal. The ride was supposed to be for 30min. Very disappointing, I felt like a kid at an animal farm riding a donkey. It was crap and was counting the seconds until we had to get off. All you do is go in a small circle around the pool! Boring! The only one good thing is that it made for a great photo in the pool in front of the waterfall!
Anyway, got the photos and now was time to swim. We spent the rest of the day swimming, enjoying the sun and watching old people slip and
falling down the stairs into the pool. The stairs into the second pool are pretty dangerous, the first one is ok then the rest are very very slippery. As with all good things in life, they come to an end and we made our way back to the hotel.
That evening we decided to go tenpin bowling. First Linda and I went for dinner, a nice quiet romantic dinner. Linda was dying for pizza so we found a place that looked pretty western for this town. There is something about South East Asia that we just can't understand. When you go eat a couple, the male always gets his food first and some time later, the female gets hers. For example, I ordered the one day for breakfast, fried eggs, chips and bread, Linda ordered bread and jam. If I was a betting man, I would put all my money on the bread and jam coming out first, right? No way, eggs and chips first, then 5 - 10 min later the bread and jam. Why? Anyway back to this romantic dinner alone....
So I order fried rice and chicken and Linda her pizza. We know the pizza will take
a few minutes longer and we accept that. So my fried rice and chicken comes out and I have finished it because it’s getting cold. A good couple of minutes after I had finished my food the waiter looks and notices that Linda had not got a plate. He then has the balls to tell us that the pizza is still frozen and asks if she want to order something else? Is this guy for real? I have finished my food, Linda has been sitting waiting for over 30 min and this moron asks if she wants to order something else? I was ready to rip his head off his shoulders and shove it where the sun don't shine. Linda keeping her cool said she can wait. Finally the pizza comes, 45 min after I had finished my food! Nice romantic dinner that turned out to be!
After dinner, we all met up and head off for a game of Tenpin Bowling. We were expecting these home made lanes and wood skittles with someone running to move the fallen ones. To our surprise, this was very modern, proper lanes, fully automated. We played 3 games and then everyone was pretty
tired so we made our way back to the hotel.
We are off to Viang Vieng tomorrow for a 7 hour bus ride, yay!
