HELLO PEEEPSSS!
After an uneventful few days in Laung Prabang in the north of Laos, I decide to make a mad dash into Thailand.
Before crossing the Laos Chapter, I must say that so far Laos was the best place I have been to. No kids chasing after you shouting "you buy braceleeeet siiirrr, ooooo----nlyyy one dolll-laaaaaaaa"
Anyhow, I take a 15 hour bus from Luang Prabang to the border with Thailand on the 13th November and arrive at the Thai border on the morning of the 14th after another but-numbing journey...
The bus stops in the middle of nowhere at aroud 5 in the morning and we all sleep for about an hour, including the driver... Wierd...
Anyhow, around 10am we get to the border town, I forget the name of the town. After formally checking out of Laos, I take a 2 minute boat across the Mekong River which marks the border between Laos and Thailand for 1USD and hey presto, I am in Thailand.
There is no need for a visa in Thailand so after filling out the landing card and getting a stamp, I hop in a tuk-tuk to the bus station and around 12noon, I just manage to catch the last bus to Chiang Mai....
I spend a few days in Chian Mai with Olaf the Dutch guy that I met on the way, followed by one nigt in another town called Pai (pronounced 'bye') and then head to Mae Hong Song...
