After having some breakfast in one of Lonely Planets recommendations, Luang Prabang Bakery, which was very nice, we decide to rent bicycles for the day to go explore some caves in the area and go for a swim.

We decided to head to a area called Blue Lagoon, which was a 7km bike ride away. The road was very very bumpy the whole route, and at some point we must of taken a wrong turn but we got there early afternoon. The views on the way were so nice, very mountainous around and lots of fields. We cycled through some quite rural areas, and passed quite a lot of cows.

We had a much needed swim in the water when we got there, it was so blue and nice to cool down. Then went to explore the cave, which was up a very steep path. The cave was massive! It was really good to go explore inside, the rocks looked pretty in different formations and glittering. Because the opening was so big it let a lot of light in and allowed us to go quite far in. We really enjoyed it!

After our 7km bike ride back we went in search of another lonely planet recommendation for dinner, but unable to find it we had dinner at a Laos restaurant. I had a traditional dish called Laap, which was fish with lots of herbs and sticky rice. Matt had another traditional dish which was yellow noodles with pork. Very nice evening 😊
