After a long hiatus from hosting due to the pandemic of the past several years, we are back on the high seas again and loving it. A lot of water has passed under the bridge in those intervening years. Zoom calls became a way of life for keeping in touch with friends and relatives. It was the longest stretch of time since we have been married that we have not traveled somewhere in the world. During the quarantine we got to know our new home in Florida and were grateful for the comforts it offered like a swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table and a lovely lanai overlooking our lake and 160 acre nature preserve. Having learnt our lesson after the trip from Tokyo, Scott took Elodie to the playground to run off some energy while I packed up our AirBNB in Osaka. By the time they came back I was all done so we grabbed our suitcases and headed to the train station. When we arrived at Osaka station we purchased shinkansen tickets to Hakone. We opted to take a slightly later train so we'd have a direct trip. While waiting for the train it became clear that the morning playground trip had been a little too successful as Elodie fell asleep in her pram. Tredje och sista dagen i Tokyo. Det är ju helt omöjligt att få allt annat än ett snap-shot på denna enorma stad i detta på många vis stora land. Jag dök in i två områden och vad får jag med mig? Ska jag åka tillbaka eller räcker det med neonskyltar, pling-plongande överallt och en massa exhibitionister oxå överallt och en massa koder som är helt oförståeliga? Svaret är så klart ja - en kulturhistorisk skattkista jag bara sett genom en springa men jag tror ändå att det i så fall skulle bli lite mer än bara Tokyo för att få ett smakprov av det Japan som kanske inte är så superhajpat som de delar av Tokyo jag sett.
