Tanegashima

-------------------------Update #1--------------------------

Day 1: Tanegashima is the first island directly south of japan. We got there today after a long journey from Hiroshima. We read that they have a nice 12km long beach with surfing possibilities. Sea turtles layig their egg there now. Also said to be hot sprigs here were you can relax under a water fall. We walked to thetourist info in Hiroshima and asked. 1h later the nice reseptionist had found us a cheap hostel fixed trains (2changes) and boat ticket. Also a note for the taxi driver where to drive us. When we arrived here 8h later the hostel guy picked us up at the ferry. Nice. Actually ts by a hostel. It's a small appartment next to a computer repairment shop. So we have a computer. Microwave. Shower. Fridge. Waterboiler. Toilet. Tv. And beds we roll out on the floor Japanese style. Tomorrow well ear down tithe information to see if they have any mopeds or something for rent. So we can drive to the beach and hot springs. Today it was raining but we pray for better weather tomorrow and the rest of the week. It's the end of e rain period so it's a bit of a gamble with the weather. And untill todaythe weather has been brilliant.

We explored the iand a bit today by foot. Found an old beach with a lot of seashells and rubbish. Might go there one day and relax if he weather isbgood. We seem to be the only tourists in the area. Both good and bad. Fidde doesn't like it but I think it's nice to get away from all the people for a while.
Also there a lot of cool animals ere. Crabs. Red ones running arou d with their claws in the air. Crabs making holes in the sand. Big cochriach looking insects but blue. Funny bastards :p I think I saw a humming bird (I think they are called) small birds they can hover I. The air and Sri k nectar from flowers. Butterflies and flies too :) it's nice.

Sitting on a upsidedown turned rubbish bin since my legs fall asleep when I sit on the floor.

The food is still an issue. By I think a combination of noodles, riceballs and bread will be a good combo for breakfast and supper. Dinner is still the by question. But I think a fastfood chain next to our house will have something good an cheap. Gonna check it out tomorrow.

Fedde is reading manga on the computer. Still a little geekboy hihihi. I'm checking my email and stuff on my iPod. Not much better me :p we tried to download but Internet stopped working whne we did so no.

Japanese tv is hilarious! Especially the ads. Hahhaa so random and extreme.
Now I do t k ow what to do. Shower and relax a little. Gonna go up early to call my princess. Today we have 9months together. Wiiiii. "congratulations" -oh thank you! Yes i'd like to thank my beautiful girl for making this possible. And my family for the great support. Thank you!

Day 2: so Day two on this island with 16002 inhabitants 16000 Japanese and 2 tourists from sweden. Yeah it's us. Today we slept in a bit and then walked the harbour and asked a little. They didn't know but hey helped us anyway. As they always do. We got a photocopied map in English (from 1986) and got to know how to take the bus. We qctuall wanted to rent a moped or bike but no no. Only cars. So anyway we took the bus to the beach. It was really hot in town and a nice breeze at the beach. And some really nice waves for surf beginners. The only think is that I didn't find a surf school. Or board. But we were only at the small beach today. Maybe 500 meters long. And tomorrow we aregoing to the 12km long beach instead. And mate there will be a little more populated so there might be a surf school there. Today it was me fedde and 5 Japanese guys on the beach. Supernice! Lunch consisted of 2 rice balls and fried squid. Mmmm. But the wind was to strong to relax in the sun so we walked home. Took us 2 hours and now we both have a nice red colour on our backs and shoulders (and head for fedde) pics can be found on http://www.facebook.com/jjanstad have a look. Inthe evenings there's not much to do. But it's quite nice just to relax. Read about the next town. Check Internet. Blog a little. Did my laundry by hand today. Awesome fun.

The rest of the week

So my last evenig here in the little appartrment. We are quite found of this palce but it will still feel food to leave for new adventures. Yesterday we rented a car and drove around the island. The car was a 600cc Japanese car and really fun to drive. Even if I drove off with the handbreak on hehe. I started driving and we thought "nah it can't be that hard tofund on this small island. " well it was and I manage to drive in the complete wrong direction. So we got on the eastcoast when we thought we were on the south. Well atleast we saw some Japanese countryside. I also manage to drive utill a road ended and I had to turn around with the small car. Picture on facebook hehe. We then drove to see at the big 12 I'm beach. It wast that impressive. Full with rubbish that had drifted ashore from the ocean. And no cool waves. And no turtles. So we drove to some other nice places. We saw a big hole in a mountain in the ocean.

Aaasaargh fredrik just killed a cockroach big as my thumb. And my thumbs are big!!! Eeeeew!

Anyway we also saw some cool waterfalls but we didn't swim because the weather was to cold. And no hot spriggs because we couldn be bothered to pay. I though it was free. But we are going to a town with over 100 natural hot springs tomorrow so I'll be ok. Then we went home. :) fredrik drove some as well. He managed to drive intothe sidewalk but no visible damage was done to the car. He almost crashed into an other car 2 minutes later. And then really close to the ditch. But I'm still alive so it's okey.
The last 3 days the weather has been really bad with rain and clouds so today we slept in and didn't do anything. Fixed our stuff. Thats it

To my great disappointment I didn't find a surfing board to ride. :/ I hope I can try surfing some other time in my life. Maybe they have some good waves in Mexico :D wooooh

Well tomorrow we are taking the boat early to visit an old samurai town with lots of tempels and then go to a town 40km away to visit the town town with all the hot pools.

Hit my head 10 times in total in 10 days now. Just 18 days left. So if I keep this up I'm gonna hit my head 18 more times. Aouch!
