My new dictionary arrived today! I have to say, I am AMAZED by the service of the company I bought it from. For anyone who is looking to buy an electronic Japanese dictionary, flashcards, or textbooks, I HIGHLY recomend www.whiterabbitpress.com. I placed my order last Friday and by Monday had an e-mail waiting assuring me thatmy order had been shipped and asking if I had any questions. I wrote back, "Yes, could you tell me when I should expect my dictionary?" and within 30 minutes a personalized reply came telling me it would be only 2-4 days!! I got it just 2 days later (today!). It's nothing like dealing with a large corporate chain, every question I had during the ordering process was answered quickly and personally. Furthermore, I had left a comment on the order asking if I could get the dictionary in red (it came in 3 colors, black, white, or red) because the order form did not have a place to choose the color. When the dictionary arrived today, I was ready to settle for plain old black, but was surprised to find a red dictionary inside! They actually read my comment (or it was a very convenient coincidence!). This dictionary is by far the most useful, in my opinion, for someone at my reading level planning to live in Japan. Here's what's included:

For those who don't know, the stylus pen allows me to actually write Kanji (non-phonetic Chinese characters) on the screen and then interprets and translates them! This was the biggest selling point for me because Kanji are so difficult for foreigners, like myself. The stylus option works far better than I imagined too... I don't know how they do this, but even if I don't write the character properly, it can usually read it!!
I'm still learning to use it since all the menus and prompts are in Japanese, but my roommates are helping me a lot, and if worst comes to worst, I can sit and translate the dictionary buttons themselves to English, haha.

Actually this is Dad,
The thing that was screwing us up is the "Send Heather A Message" link on your frontpage takes you to a page telling you to download Firefox, and that javascript is disabled. I checked, and javascript is not disabled.
At first I couldn't find any other wat to send you a message, but then thought to try full view on one of your journal entries, sure enough this comment dialog was at the bottom.
So it was the send Heather a message link that was screwing us up, once we ignored that, everything was fine.
Glad to see you got your dictionary, and am glad it was what you wanted. Is the photo of the actual dictionary, or was it from the site you ordered it from?
Talk to you soon, love Mom & Dad.
Yeah, sorry the page is confusing. This is the most popular travel blog though because it gives you lots of extra info about the country and other blogs to it too. Hopefully they'll do something about the format.
That's not my dictionary, but a picture of one that looks like it. I haven't bothered uploading pics from my camera b/c I'm not sure if I can do it on the library computers, but maybe I'll take another once we figure out how to revive my laptop, since this one is kind of blurry.
I'm the owner of White Rabbit Press. Thanks a lot for mentioning our shop!
We look forward to your next visit!
