Big day... Great day!! This morning we headed off to Harajuku to check out the freaky girls. We went to Machida, then caught a transfer into Shinjuku (the busiest station in Japan - every workday 3 million people pass through it!). We discovered that I had been an idiot and put a cleaning tape into the Video camera, and had not brought any spares with us, so we had to find an electornics store and buy some replacements. So find them we did, we also found a zoom lens for our new digital SLR camera - usually it retails for around $800 AUS - Kristy bought it for 15000yen (about $165 AUS) - bargain! I sooooo love Japan! Our Two trips to Harajuku. After a long train trip, about an hour, we finally made it to the very trendy Harajuku. My first trip to Harajuku was made with my friend, Larissa, from my cast. Larry couldn't go because he had to work and I was itching to get out before my show opening! We also wanted to check out this part of Tokyo on a Sunday, particularly because of all the freaks, errr, I mean people who get all dressed up to show off their outfits on this day. Apparently, they only do this on Sundays, and most will go to a little square right by the train station making it very easy for those passing by to gawk and stare! Why?.... Hi! Sorry, between travelling and jet lag I've gotten behind on my postings. These are pictures from February 19 in Tokyo with my mom. I'm actually back in Takizawa Japan. I will try to post blogs on San Francisco and life in Japan soon. Thanks to Colin's parents, we now have a reliable computer at home so we'll be able to stay in contact with everyone :) Although, I can't guarantee too much because I start work tomorrow. I'm anticipating a bit of an adjustment period, since I haven't worked full time in six months and am still recovering from jet lag. Here it is, the blog many of you have been waiting for!
