Sunday 8/07/12

Woke up and packed up the last of my things before throwing them out the window (sounds far more destructive when I don’t mention I’m on the first floor). We probably could have fit everything in one car trip, but we spaced it out to two. I was surprised, as actually, I didn’t have as much stuff as I thought. Next challenge was to connect the internet, and after both I and Kazumi’s husband tried for nearly an hour, we gave up, unable to connect to either the wireless or the corded internet. Spent the day putting things in their new rightful places, not before Kazumi dropped ‘round with some Takoyaki and Lemonade for me for lunch! She doesn’t like to be called ‘Obasan’ which means ‘aunty’, but she sure does play the mothering role!

A huge load of washing meant that the rest of the afternoon was spent hanging up clothes, luckily there is a proper washing line undercover outside here, and plenty of hooks on the walls for indoor things, unlike my last place where the washing line was under direct fire of the rude person upstairs who dumped buckets of water over the balcony! As I was leaving with the second car load of stuff from my old apartment, out popped the nasty woman who yelled at me about my rubbish and gave me a smile, I gave her the most honest smile ever, as I won’t have to ever see her again!

A quick nap on the couch before heading back to my old apartment to hang up the load of towels and get the fridge and freezer items. There are just a couple of glasses and mugs, and my kettle left to bring, but I want to walk them over, so will do that over the next few days. I’ve been asked to give the key back on Monday, but as I have yet to clean, and also will have to put the rubbish out on Wednesday and check the mail for bills, I’m going to hold on to it. There is also no phone at this apartment, even though I requested and reminded for one to be put in, so if I need to make a call on the weekend or after hours, I will have to use the phone at my old apartment. Tricky stuff.

Tested out my new cushions and banana pillows and found them to be very comfy.
