JAPAN Mt Fuji /Tokyo 6th -13th October

Before leaving we were determined to see Mt Fuji and ended up spending 4 days by Lake Kawaguchiko. In the end we were rewarded with a snow capped view and took the opportunity to walk as far as the 7th station - only 3 stations from the top...but about another 4 hours climb.

After that it was back to Tokyo, where we stayed in the compact and cool Riverside Capsule Hotel, Asakusa district. We visited the early morning fish market and enjoyed more sights around Tokyo including some beautiful parks before flying out to Sydney.

For us Japan has been a perfect balance of modernism and tradition, encompassing unique charm and civilisation through its people and natural scenery. A wonderful place, we will miss its people ...... and onsens!!
