... [more]So the entire travel thing went surprisingly well. Not a single hitch, really. None of my flights had delays, I made it to them easily and on time... even check-in in Japan went great! No complications or anything, it was just a long line, ahaha.
So overall, it's been a good day, I would say. Though I am so flipping tired.
Flying in over Japan was really cool, coming down through the clouds and everything. It looked like the pictures you always see, with the mountains sticking through the clouds and such. I've already made a bunch of friends and we went around looking for a place to eat tonight, but finally decided to just go on the supermarket tour with one of the houses and get food there. Tomorrow we're going on a tour of the mall area, so that should be fun.
One thing I'm not overjoyed about is this whole 'orientation' thing. Half the stuff available to you isn't available during orientation! And I have to wait some time before I can get some of the things I need. I won't get my gai-jin (alien) card until I move in with my homestay family, and I
can't get a cell phone until then. I can't get wireless internet on my laptop until the monday that classes start, so I'm stuck using the ones in the computer lab (which, I'm surprised I was even able to use! I didn't think I had a login/password thingie, but it turns out it was in my registration papers). XD
We got this big whole packet of things to read and forms we'll eventually be filling out, like our banking forms, and some stuff we have to sign. It's all a little overwhelming right now, I can't even lie about that. I have my Japanese Placement Exam and the Language Laboratory Tutorial (whatever *that* is) on Tuesday, and there's a campus meeting on Monday, I believe. Along with the banking sessions.
Oh yeah, and I won't be able to *use* my bank account until I get the card and banknote. Which is like... three weeks after you do it. So, the 80,000 yen I have had better last me. Though I do also have the $222 that I can convert into yen if I need to. And right now, we're pretty much feeding ourselves. I don't know if the cafeteria's
The BusThe bus was... really nice. I can't even lie. The seats were really comfy, we each got our own two-seat area, it was air-conditioned (unlike the airport!), and there were like... victorian-style cha

Once I get assigned my family, though, I will obviously get breakfast and dinner there (and then lunch will be in the caf, though it will be much easier since I'll already be on campus! You have to walk a good distance to actually get to campus from the seminar houses.
All of the people that greeted us and met us were very friendly, and they helped me wheel my bags and such. I still think I have way too much stuff, and there's only, I think... one other person that looks like they have the same amount of luggage as me. Uuugh. I was able to get it fine myself at the airport with a cart, though, which was nice.
The only thing that was a bit off-putting was that they took me up to my room, I met one of other roommates, who doesn't seem to speak much English (oh yeah, other thing - there's three people to a room during orientation week. THREE PEOPLE... to a VERY SMALL ROOM). Yeah, whatever. But anyway, one of the

girls and my roommate started talking... and then they just left. Pretty much. Left me to myself. If I hadn't made friends with the girls I'd traveled over with, I wouldn't have done anything tonight! Woulda just sat in my room or something. So it was kinda weird, and I'm just glad that I did meet people.
I don't have any pictures yet (though I did take some!) since I'm obviously on a lab computer, and well... I probably *could* upload them all on here, but it would be kinda weird, and I might get strange looks and/or asked to stop. So we'll have to see.
OH YEAH OTHER THING
Apparently, not having phone service, means having NO TIME AT ALL on your phone. Which means I can't use it as an alarm. Which means I have no alarm clock. I *have* to get one tomorrow, or else there's no way for me to wake up. Seriously. That was a bit annoying. Plus, I have to find one that I'll understand how to program myself.
Yeah, I am really, really tired right now. I barely got any sleep *last* night, and right now... it's almost 10:00... which

... [more]would make it... 8:00 in the morning our time. Grrrrgh, I have been awake so very long. I neeeeed to go get some sleep.
Alright, well, that's about all I can think of. Hopefully, I will be able to get some of my pictures up soon! And hopefully orientation week gets done with! Once I can get through with this crap and get on a regular kind of schedule and *where* I'm supposed to be, I'll probably start feeling a lot better. Not that I'm not feeling good! I'm still really excited and it's so fun just walking down the streets and seeing the signs and everything, but there's still that feeling of OH GOD I'M GOING TO BE HERE FOUR MONTHS. Lol. If you get my drift.
Anyway, I'm sigining off to go hit the sack. :)
Edit: I said screw it all and decided to just bring my camera down and upload my pics so far. Which worked fine. So yeah, now I have pics up. X3

Sup Liv! This site hates me! It takes like 39834394 hours to load, and I'm just sitting here like...jslkdjfskdf what the heck??
Anyway...this all sounds fun and dandy. Well, except for the alien card thing. That blows.
I tried to get Funky Kong the other day and sucked it up. XD Ultimate fail. I can't seem to get first on any of them! UGHH.
Thats...about it. Talk to you later!
Ahaha, well, it is a bit slow sometimes, even for me. I think it depends on when you check it. I was having a lot of problems last night trying to upload pictures, but this morning, it went easy as pie!! So yeah, probably the time of day or something.
LOL Funky KONG!!
Yeah, you pretty much kept sucking it up beforehand as well, so hey. XD Just kidding! If you don't have Funky Kong unlocked by the time I get back, then we will have to unlock him over Christmas Break. Yes, we must. It's not even a question.
