It had to be done. We weren't really sure if it was for us these days, but how would we know if we didn't try it? We'd seen the old one, a long time ago, but now there's a new one. Is it better? Or is it the same, and we're old, so it's the same old, same old? Today we went to Tokyo Disneyland. Except not Disneyland, exactly, but its newer, younger more up-to-date version, Tokyo Disneysea. Built in the same general area, and these days surrounded by Disney Resorts and Hotels. As I have mentioned, until yesterday it has been a summer holiday period for many businesses here, but today was back to normal - although it's still summer holidays for schools. And I suppose there could have been more than a few people ... read more

We had a well deserved sleep in and went down for a buffet breaky. After breaky we found the demand swimming pool, indoor and heated too! We did 600 laps in the 15m pool, had some fun towing each other and then off to the changerooms. Back in the hotel room it was time to do one final pack and check out! The hotel looked after our luggage while we went over to do some last minute shopping and souvenir buying at the nearby shopping mall. On the way back from shopping we took 3 loop rides around the monorail . We could easily see the other park,Disney Sea, which looks like great fun, a definite for next time. The crowds were a lot smaller too,so we recommend going on a Tuesday. Back at the hotel ... read more

Disneyland, here we come! Early start for breakfast in the Hilton's dinning room with a full buffet to fill up for the busy day ahead. The hotels bus picked us up at 7:50 for the 5 minute ride to the Disneland entrance, and have a look at the size of the crowd. Huge crowds were lining up ready for the 0800 gate opening, luckily Kate has good Japanese skills so we could move straight to a shorter line to purchase tickets. Right on 0800 the gates opened and within 5 minutes we had our 1st fast pass and were lining up for our 1st ride of the day. Tomorrowland - Star Tours, Captain EO , Space Mountain. Toon Town - Gadget Coaster, Roger Rabbit .. Critter County - Beaver Canoes where we also last saw Koala ... read more

I know what you're thinking. Why would an American travel all the way from Southern California to Japan only to go to Disney? But Tokyo Disney Sea is something else entirely. It's more like California Adventures, if it were more developed and had a stronger, broader theme. There's everything to do with the sea, from an entire world devoted to Little Mermaid to Venice and Cape Cod waterfronts to the classic 20,000 yen under the sea ride. First off, it's interesting to see what things Japanese people respond to, that Americans wouldn't. The first ride we went on Storm Rider was a virtual ride where you fly into the eye of a hurricane in order to disable it before it reaches Japan. Very specific to this country and this part of the world. Yes, we have ... read more

In honor of it being my birthday, and my friend spencer's birthday in october, we decided to go to Tokyo Disneyland! Unfortunately, my camera died, and I didnt get to take as many pictures as i would have like to but i think that i got a good amount for tokyo disney to have its own entry. Please excuse my typing because im using a japanese keyboard and i dont feel like trying to find every apostrophe key on here...lol. What makes tokyo disney really unique is that it is also combined with the only Disney Sea park in the world. All of the other Disney resorts have separate themes to them, but tokyo is ... read more

Today was a free day, so we went to Disney Sea. We were there for about twelve hours. I took two videos, both of braviSEAmo. I got a thirty four second video of the water spirit and an eight minute four second video of the fire spirit through to the end. I took over three hundred pictures at Disney Sea. It was an extremely amazing place. They had a Mediterranean Harbor section, mostly Italian as they had gondola rides :P. They had a "Mysterious Island" area which was a 20,000 Leagues under the sea theme part. It had a life size replica of the Nautilus. The next area was a Little Mermaid themed place, Mermaid Lagoon. They had a life size model of King Triton's Castle in Atlantica. You could go inside it to a little ... read more
