Erika works for the IRC as Training, Systems and Admin Manager.
... [more]So I’ve only been here a month, Why not throw a party? The pictures speak for themselves. It was crazy. A few highlights include:
• Seeing someone who briefly I’d met before, during the day on Saturday, who invited me to my own party! He’d been invited to the party by someone I worked with, but hadn’t realized that it was my party!
• Making fruit punch, out of mango, papaya, pineapple, lychee juice, lemongrass vodka. It was really good, so you couldn’t taste the alcohol. I thought that this was a problem, so was continuously topping it up. The results are evident from the photos.
• Dancing like an energizer bunny. I needed the release. Happy Place.
• The power cut for 5 minutes, which killed the stereo and prompted my boss to start singing.
• Mixing songs between an Ipod and a mini system.
• Having the party crashed by the UN.
• The party was talked about at the a WHO meeting my house mate went to on Monday!
• Having Banda Aceh run out of beer on the night of my birthday. WE DRANK THE CITY DRY!
• And much gratuitous chin touching.
