Vi ligger på stranden ud for Vila Ombak. Mille og Theis går i vandet... Theis lader som om han vælter og hiver en lille skattekiste op af vandet. Den smukke pige kiggede forundret på sin store kæreste og sagde "jeg troede ikke du ville giftes?!" Men det ville den store kæreste meget gerne. Han havde længe drømt om at fri til den skønne Mille og heldigvis svarede hun ja Eftermiddagen blev efterfulgt at en skøn frokost på Scallywags(personalet kendte Svea-J og Martin fra for 2 år siden - "Hello Ms. Juli") derefter massage til Langsung i hotellets spa. Gili Trewangan 19th-23rd July Left hotel at 8.00am in the morning and headed to Serangan harbour. Took "Black Pearl" with Nikki, Spok and kids to Gili Trewangan. Arrived at idyllic location and met Spok's brother, Garth, his wife Dawi and kids. They put us up in bungalows near beach. Mode of transport on the island is horse and cart. Wide range of accommodation on the island, with lots of money being invested. Heaps of Euro divers to be found. No police presence to be found. One surfing spot on the island, which needs a big swell to work. Took kids out a couple of times. Gili Trewangan is one of three small islands off the north-west coast of Lombok. So we set off on foot away from the big resorts and started asking at every place along the way, it became clear pretty quickly that because it was high season the prices were ridiculous, some places were asking 200 quid a night to stay on the floor! It seems lots of westerners have bought land on the island, built 'boutique beach chic' huts and are asking sky high prices for them! Eventually after about an hours walk we arrived at the western side of the island and found a very sweet Javanese bungalow which, much to Terry's surprise, we decided to stay in for the next few nights. Bali I was given an indication of what to expect in Bali while in Sydney waiting to board the flight. Every flight I normally catch has a cosmopolitan mix of cultures and purposed however today my fellow passengers seemed to be exclusively australians going on holiday, giving me a vivid recollection of the few package holidays I have taken in europe. Pre 'Gen Y', 'Ryan Air' 'Easy as you like' world when one packaged foreign holiday was perceived a luxury - squadrons of brits would head to a crowded Gatwick to catch a delayed flight to a Spanish or Greek resort which would provide its guests with English Food, cheap alcohol and guaranteed sunshine.
