Hello everyone. The main feature this month is a study tour to Kuningan in West Java, Indonesia. It was arranged through an EU / VSO funded project for knowledge and skills sharing across South East Asia. The focus was on community involvement in forest management. We visited two field sites, at the first the timber company has entered into a sharing agreement with local people giving them access to more land for agroforestry. At the second site local people are involved in the management of a national park. Both are successful projects that have been in place for 6 or 7 years.
