Bali is a paradise, there’s no question about it. We don’t even have to mention the obvious. But for those with a passion for fishing, a trip here may just be what the doctor ordered. Don’t forget, this is an island not too far from the equator in the Indian Ocean. So you know there are some exotic tropical game swimming in these waters. And you’ll be doing so via a method called trolling.

For those not familiar with this type of fishing, trolling is a where one or more baited fishing lines are drawn through the water. There are several places you can do this from. One is obviously by boat. But you can also do it from a stationary position by slowly winding the line in or even sweeping it from side to side.

Don’t worry if this sounds complicated to you. Beginners even in the field of fishing will quickly pick up on this method. In fact, you will be briefed about it the moment you arrive at the harbor. The fishing guide will provide a safety briefing and demonstrate some techniques for trolling. The experienced ones may just also learn a few pointers as well.

So, after hearing the do’s and do not do’s of trolling , board the boat and head on out from the harbor to some of the prime fishing spots just outside of the island. Once there, drop your lines into the water and let the boat motor along. The chance to catch a wide range of fish including the Spanish Wahoo, Tuna, King Fish, Sail Fish and Barracuda are high. So, pose for the camera after your catch and show everyone your game.

Don’t worry about food. A lunch box with a meal, snacks and drinks will be provided. Toilet and shower facilities are also available on the boat. Before embarking on this trip, we highly recommend wearing comfortable beach clothes. A pair of shorts and even perhaps swimming gear will be suitable. And don’t forget hat and sunscreen. Bring a change of clothes to change into after fishing if you wish.

If you happen to be in Bali via one of our tours , then this day trip may very be added to your overall experience.
