Hey hey everyone
hope youre all doing good?!
I finally found a place to access the internet and leave you a first post.
First: The time we already spent here was reaaaally nice, though the weather isn't that good.
We had a pleasant flight from Frankfurt to Jakarta via Singapore (Dana: I loved the massage seats too.. I pushed the button the whole flight :P). Singapore was rainy and cloudy, but I think although a nice place to be.
We spent two days in Jogyakarta (YES: I survived the Garuda flight *hehe*) and visited two very famous temples. The first one unfortunately was destroyed by an earthquake in 2006, but the built it up again at the moment. The second one was Borobudur, 1 hour away from Jogyakarta and the biggest buddhist temple in the world. We got up at 5:30 this morning and drove to the temple.
On Sep 6 we flew to Bali (also with Garuda :P) and we saw a vulcano eruption out of the airplane... that was quite exciting though they didn't mention it in any news... my mom says that it was just the usual thing going on here concerning volcanoes :P
We stayed two days in a beach front hotel in Berewa / Bali and yesterday rent a car which we drive by ourselves... it's quite funny but also stressing as the people here don't have any traffic rules at all :P
Now we stay in Ubud, a nice artificial city, for 2 days. Ten years ago it was a quite silent and small town, now it's like all the other tourists centers in Bali ...
One funny story about the title of this blog: On second evening in Jogyakarta we went to some Batik-Artist-Shops and then a man showed us a batik-painting exhibition where they had a lot of very beautiful pictures. The owner of this shop, one of the drawers, told us that he has a friend in Germany ("U know TAUNUS???") and then he said "This is BASF colour!! U can wash it with OMO and Ariel... and hot water... VERY GOOD!!"... I looked at him, because I didn't even mention BASF and he said that some of the pictures are drwan with BASF colours and finally, very funny for us, he said "An this is CAVAROL" - "What? CAVAROL? U mean CAPAROL?" - "Yes yes caparol!"... u see Corinna: They definitely have need for German colours, so you should start and set up a newsletter for them. =)
Unfortunately I cannot upload any pictures over here, but I will definitely do so when I am back in Germany. I will try to get back to the internet asap and write a little bit more about those funny experiences over here :D
I hope youre all checking back this blog. =)
