Only 15 min. so here it goes
Let me start out by saying that I second everything that Stephanie had to say X2!
Well we deided to book it out of town after only one night in search of that perfect beach. I am already feeling a bit like Leonardo DiCaprio in"The Beach". I just hope it doesn't take some guy blowing his brains out in front of us for us to find it.
Sanur...a sleepy little town with a fraction as many shops and hawkers that aren't quite as intense. It is funny after all the traveling I've done that these people still manage to burrow into the soul of me in a matter of minutes and make me wish horrible things on their entire family. They mean well...i suppose. Funniest part of all, while I am wishing doom and destruction on all of them I find myself trying to defend them to Stephanie. "Well you see, it is just a cultural difference" This in response to 3 sweaty odese women surrounding her and forcing her into their stall full of wonderful "Made in China" goods. I couldn't even squeeze through their layers and folds to dislodge
her from their claws. This only after we agreed to a "Beach Massage" from them. The only thing I will say about the massage is...total violation...I mean never again...I mean we should have walked out as soon as we got there. Rookies...Green...Suckers...so disappointing. I mean Stephanie should have known better really.
Well at any rate, our hotel was nice enough. 3 swimming pools, beachside room with cable TV and the works. If you love a family resort complete with screaming children from all over the world, Saneeda Beachview Resort is for you!! Now anyone that knows me knows that I am very likely to spontaneously decide to pack up and move elsewhere if I don't love a particular place. So, after drowning 2 Japanese, 1 Korean, and 3 Dutch children (no Americans as they are all staying at the $400/ night Hyatt next door) we have decided to go to Ubud! I am sure we will love it there.
Well the beach was beautiful, at night. The walk along the path under a starlit sky to a wonderful restaurant and delicious meal was well worth the journey here. The Tirimasu was unbelievable and Stephanie's Creme Brulee looked quite divine from across the table.
Gotta go catch our taxi. Thanks for all your comments and we'll fill you in on more later!
Love,
Us

I think you should write a book!
Ubud is still very touristy and still loads of cockroaches, but there are nice restuarants and excellent cultural stuff. Itīs also very atmosperic as soon as you walk off the main street:rich green rice paddies and such.
Do the hike up Mount Batur if itīs still possible - itīs awesome.
Hoping you can see through the commercialism to the charm underneath.
