After our sunrise tour from Bromo, we hard bargained our bus driver for a ride into Pagandaran (the next biggest town) so that we could catch yet another bus, this one to the ferry from Java to Bali. You know your geting a good deal when the the seller starts to whisper so that others can't hear!! I'm not kidding, he wouldn't even write the price on the receipt!! -- Gunnar can bargain like an old woman!! complete with facial expessions and fake grumpy moods.
So off we were to the island of Bali! We found Bali had a much different vibe than Java. Gunnar knew this as he had travlled through Bali in 2006, but for me it was almost as if our 30 minute ferry was a 2 hour flight!
Bali has a much larger hindu population than Java, Java is primarily muslim (infact Indonesia is is home to the worlds largest muslim population), we were in java during the month of Ramadan, so htis may account for the large contrast we noticed as we entered Bali.
The balinese party hard... their local beverage of choice, "Arak" is a 100 proof coconut based drinkie that doubles

Good sunset as paint thinner and rocket fuel.... my head hurts just thinking about it.
This trip to Kuta was a quickie, long enough to get some sleep, grab a club sandwhich and a ride through to Padangbai then to the Gili Island of Trawagan for some diving!!

But Potter wants to know why you didn't take a picture of a clubhouse sandwich!!! Who wants crab when there's an Indo clubhouse on the menu!
