The karma of yoga
What a better opportunity to update the blog than a forced stop due to the universal inevitable law of karma? The law, which I lately discovered, states:
"
In Yoga, whatever pose you take, once you make a mistake its consequences will show up (re-incarnate) in your next _ lives "
and, indeed, this is what happened, when a few days ago while finally) practicing with success the in-famous Wheel pose (Chakra-sana) I heard a crack which was followed by a collapse of my body on the ground. Nothing serious, I thought, but when I woke up this morning (at 5am, as "this is India", and this time of the morning is particularly enjoyed by the locals for listening at full volume to the radio, shouting and screaming at the children, smashing pottery, breaking and carrying construction materials, and all similar amenities) all the left side of mi neck, back, shoulder and shoulder blade was in excruciating pain. And while waiting for my turn at the massage parlour hoping to make the pain go away, I cannot but, by association, remind myself of the other pains I've had on my right side, neck, back, and shoulder, on my
Ashram hospital
....waiting in line, 6am trip back from Gangotri, the sources of Ganga. To make a long story short, here's the sequence of the trip, just to give you an idea:
>>>>>Trip leg>>>>>>>Km>>>>>>Means of transport>>>>>>State of road>>>time>>price
1. Rishikesh-Uttarkashi>>>180km>>>>private taxi, w/ driver and 1 passenger>>>quite good (narrow paved road overlooking a precipice, no road shoulders)>>>6hours>>1000 Rupies;
2. Uttarkashi-Gangotri>>>100Km>>shared 4wheeldrive, w/ driver and indian family of 10>>>VERY BAD, unpaved, ,uddy supernarrow donkey path overlooking hell, w/hi-speed buses coming both sides, and frequent landslides>>>6hours>>100 rupies
3. Gangotri-Gomukh>>18km>>trekking (see next entry), on foot>>mountain path between hi-mountains w landslides and hi-precipice over the river>>4 hours>>0 rupies
4. Gomukh-Tapovan>>a trek to hell and back (see next entry) 1 day>>0 rupies
5. Tapovan-Gangotri>>return to the future (see next entry)>>0 rupies
6. Gangotri-Gangnani hot water sources (priceless)
7. gangnani hot water sources-Uttarkashi>>48 km>>shared jeep with 18 (eighteen! Diciotto! Dix-huit!) indians, driver, 50 kgs of potatoes on top of the jeep, landslides on right and left sides, hi-speed bused, muddy unpaved path, grazing cattle and herds of sheep>>6hours>>50 rupies and many, many prayers;
8. Uttarkashi-Rishikesh>>180km>>hi-speed express (meaning driver will not stop if you threaten him with a gun at his head) public bus full of indians vomiting from the windows, old
Burn, Ravana, burn!!!!
What a better way to release tensions than to burn a 15 meters papier-mache' image of your enemy? countrymen with fruits and vegetables, babas
smoking bidis, etc etc etc>>>6hours>>>140 rupies, memorization of the Om-Tryambakam mantra (something about death in sanscrit) and a broken back
So, basically, this morning the inevitable law of karma of yoga brought back all this eternal chain of back pains, from left to right, from top to bottom, and so on......until the next life or a good masseur or the next mishap in doing the chakrasana pose....ooooooom!

As I know some other details of this trip, I want to add that Angelo the hero, had a walk at 5500 m alt, took a bath in a alt Lake and after realized that he did a free trek with a fauls protrek, he and the blablatreker was almost lost at over 5000 m in a snow storm without even know how to come back to the base camp...... WFFFFFOWW ! And Rishikesh - after the scary and shaky bus trip...- was again a peace place very welcome to come back and to share time between yoga, meeting and "reyounging" bath in Ganga. It's difficult in India to realized the power of what we live and cross, because each minute, in some place (...) should be in controle even soft : it's very importante to make some distance about the reaction in front of unjustice, lying, and face of all the human ways to catch some thing when you have almost nothing, it's a game and Life in the same time, but it's very rich in lessons, generousity, beauty, and other unknow part of life. India is not what we think it is, it's always something else, it's also a discovering of ourself. And it's also possible to stay in India, without too much of those difficulties, even outside of the rich occidental resorts. Thanks to Angelo, this new reporter and "adventurioR"!!!
