Yesterday we got the train to Agra. I was a bit sceptical of getting the train but was pleasantly surprised. For a start it left on time! It was pretty spacious and we even got a free meal and drinks! When we arrived at Agra we got picked up and taken to the hotel where again we were really pleasantly surprised - the hotel was lovely (especially when all we had to compare it to was that hotel in New Delhi!) We had a nap and then headed off the the Taj Mahal with our driver and tour guide. The Taj Mahal was amazing, its quite hard to describe, I guess you have to be there! Its made completely of marble with precious stones that sparkle in the sunlight. We stayed there and watched the sun set.
Today we've just been driven around to lots of shops where sales assistants don't leave you alone, its pretty uncomfortable, I miss the shops in the UK where they just leave you to it! Patrice had a ring made for her which we're picking up soon, its a topaz stone I think set in silver and white gold and cost 20 pounds, not bad
