It is amazing no-one was hurt when this massive pyre was lit by a trail of gunpowder that ran through the streets. Young lads launched fireworks like demented racoons as the many unprepared onlookers ran for their lives.

Oi, Nutter ..... yes you!
I'm gobsmacked that you went right into the heart of a favella in Rio to get a few photos. What's wrong with the usual tourist snaps of Sugarloaf mountain and the Copacabana? I always thought you were bonkers. Now I know for sure. Still, it seems you got out alive and with an amazing set of photos to boot. Did Kim accompany you? By the way, do you want your mountain bike back as we're off to Sarawak in September.

Can I just say that I think that your collection of the Happy Holi photos just make me smile - best i have seen on the site for a while - they are great and would look fantastic in jet black frames on a wall somewhere!! Especially like the guy in the glasses and the poor old cow!!! thanks for making me smile - happy safe travelling
