Land of Occtopussy

We arrived in Jaipur very late and checked into our pre-booked guesthouse. We had the next day to expolre Jaipur but didn't really find much of intrest. We could have been in the wrong areas but we found nothing of intrest and the only things to do seemed to be expensive rickshaw tours.
So we basically used the internet and did some planning for later parts of our trip. I also found out that both the memory card in my camera and my back up both have nasty viruses on them. I can't get photos off the cards and the virus software one them computers isn't working!!

Udaipur was our next stop and after looking in a few guest houses we found a nice cheap one. It had nice views and a good price. We went in to town to explore and I picked up a nice pair of green linen pants and a brown long sleve shirt.
The girls went in for the jewlery, apparently the silver and gold here is good quality and can be got at a really good price. I checked out the silver prices in the world markets and I'd say with a bit of bargining you could get finished jewlery at near cost prices.

I was told when bargining find something you like decide how much you think its worth, or what you think it shouldbe sold for. Once you have this price you can start bargining. If the seller won't drop to your price then don't buy whatever it is. This way you never feel ripped off.
Remember sellers whehter old oe young are very smart and won't sell if it's not worth it to them.
I usually do this when shopping and nearly alwalys get goods at my price even if it was 6-8 times less than the sellers price.

The girls went out to see the city palace while I stayed in. I have been a little sick so want to get some rest.I get myself up to go and see the monsoon palace which has been build on the top of a mountain. As the name suggests it is for when the rain comes because it never floods and probably for protection too because it's a long way up.


We get our train to Dehli that night and arrive early, after reading and waiting we get on another overnight train to Varanassi.
