What a stunning city and we found an amazing place guest house that overlooked most of the city. Think we deserved it after the last few days of traveling. Udaipur has real character surrounded by mountains with a palaces scattered on top of some of them so the raj can down on all he rule over.
The whinnding streets r dressed with tinsel and fairy lights, fire works exploid everywhere at random making it sound like ur in the middle of a war zone and all for dewali. Its a bit like xmas and bonfire night mixed in equal parts.
Apparently the place to be is the town hall and even tho we had been warned of drunk indians who cant handle there booze and where looking for a fight we grabbed the nearest rikshaw and headed there. massive parades more fireworks and a funfare. The atmosphere was great and no fighting at all but we seemed to be the only foreigners down there although that isnt a bad thing. we chatted to loads of indians who always seem to be up for some convo. then one big group of young lads came over to us as we chatted
to them took a few photos and shared some of our gin i suddenly realised my camera had gone from the pouch on my belt. I was distraught how the hell did that happen!!!!!!!! Then 1 of the young indian guy said "hold on its ok" how is this ok i thought, he got his phone out and in a 5 minutes my camera suddenly appeard. I was shocked to say the least, i mean when do u ever hear of that happening. It will be the last time i put my camera on my belt that is for sure.
The rest of our time in udiapur was spent with a miriad of palace tours, sunsets, suit tayloring and ayurvedic massages which envolves ur pressure points and and head massage a little painful but most relaxing afterwards.
Now we head for the delhi, what is in store for us in the capital?
