So I reached after my tiring journey at 7am in the morning and Sanjay and Michael came to pick me up. As I reached back to Priya's after meeting everyone I went to sleep for about 5 hours. When I woke up my friend Anu Singh came to see me with her brother Rishi. So that evening we all went to Sukhi and Kuljeets house for dinner, which was really nice as I got to see everyone.
The next day Rishi took me to sort out my phone as it got cut off, so we went to the Hutch shop. They were not very helpful and Rishi started arguing with the guy. Anyway my phone started working and we left there only to be given a pen and a key ring from the same unhelpful guy as it was women’s day! Lol
I was meant to meet up with my Ashish Mama for lunch but when I called him they were still shopping, so I thought I might as well go to the chacha's assembly thing and get it over and done with. So I asked Rishi to drop me there and on our way there we found
out he was talking about the parliament. It turns out he was the PA for one of the MLA's. So when we reached there chacha said the assembly had finished that day and we should come back in the morning. But he still took us for a tour around the Parliament after being security checked twice and getting passes made. We also had some chai in one of the cafes. Rishi was too into it, he was asking chacha so many questions about the ministers and so on. Chacha also gave me the Mitai I forgot in the car! Lol
That evening I was going to meet my Ashish Mama, Resh and her sisters Dee and Sweta. So I decided to invite Sanjay, Priya, Michael, Anu and Rishi to come along. We all went to Clarks where they were staying. As soon as I walked in and saw them it was great, just to see familiar faces as it feels like I haven't seen any family or friends from London in so long. The first thing Ashish mama said to me was 'you've gone black', followed by 'you've put on weight!’ Great I thought I was meant to lose
weight coming to India! Don't worry I’ll start going easy on the Indian food here!
It felt so good to see everyone and for them to meet my friends in Jaipur. After my friends left we sat on the rooftops of Clarks, had drinks and had a laugh. The next morning after getting ready and I must say it was such luxury for me to stay in a 5 star hotel and the shower was amazing! I mean the power shower and all the hot water you can imagine. It was almost unbelievable. Anyway after my thoroughly enjoyable shower we all went down for breakfast and then Rishi came to pick me up and we had tea and left.
There we were on our way to the Vidhan Subah (Legislative Assembly), we reached there at 11am but chacha didn't arrive until 11:30am (Indian timing). After getting our passes made I was told not to tell anyone I was from London or speak in English. We waited in the queue and then the woman called my name, well I ignored it at first as the woman was saying Krupa Kumari, then I realised that’s what chacha put on the
pass. After getting security checked 5 times and we were not allowed any phones or anything inside so we left them in the car, we entered the Assembly. The Minister of Rajasthan was talking about the budget and there were a few uproars during the Assembly and a lot of clapping. After about an hour I started to fall asleep, but I done pretty well I understood a little here and there as she was speaking sudh Hindi.
Once we left we went to see one of Rishi's friend at his office, he designs Logo's and Posters etc. I saw some of his work and his really good. So we chilled there and ate some food, had a cold coffee then went back to Priya's. I phoned my uncle and they were still shopping as usual, so we met up for dinner at this Indian Chinese restaurant. After having dinner I stayed with them at the hotel again and re-lived the whole shower experience in the morning! Lol
Everyone was checking out that day so I ransacked both rooms for all the hotel toiletries and yes I did actually feel like a pikey! Lol I called Michael to
pick me up, he came down on the bike, we had some breakfast and we both went to drop everyone to the airport. It was sad to see them go their visit was too short.
So the day after me and Michael started planning our travels again, which was really exciting for both of us and we planned to go to Varanasi, then to Kolkata, Shillong and Darjeeling. We didn't have that much time as Michael was heading back to Holland on the 26th April from Delhi. The day after we both brought tickets to Varanasi for the following day. So that evening we went for dinner and our friends Narib and Anu's house, we then decided to go to a night club (Angara). We left the house and were just about to get into the cars and Michael just collapsed unconscious on the floor! It was so terrifying; lucky Sanjay and Narib was there they lifted him and put him into the car. We then drove to the hospital which was two minutes away, once they took him in he became conscious and he was ok. The next two days they kept him in as they ran a
series of tests.
Under all the circumstances we obviously didn't go to Varanasi, even though Micheal was adamant about getting discharged and going (he can be a little crazy)! Just to make sure everything was ok with him we stayed in Jaipur for a few more days even though the tests came back with the all clear.
Three or four days passed and we decided to plan another trip just to Shillong and Darjeeling. So again we booked the tickets for the following day and on the day of leaving Micheal had a really bad feeling about going and I didn't want to go against his feeling after everything that had happened to him. I mean god forbid that ever happens again but all I can say is it happened at the right time, in the right place (opposite the hospital) and with the right people. I have no idea what I would have done if it happened on our travels!
So we stayed there in Jaipur and whilst we were there Micheal had made friends with the doctor at the hospital, therefore he used to go see him for coffee's and whilst he was on his
shifts at the hospital. He never used to come back to Priya's until 3/4 am! So we just chilled out in Jaipur and I went to a lot of Sheesha/Hooka cafes which were really cool, I also went shopping a little. One thing that I really regret now is I went to get my hair cut, he done a really good job and styled it well but I was a little disappointed with the fringe so I went back after a few days later and told him to trim it a little more at a slant. Well to my astonishment he gave me a full on thick fringe that he cut into steps! So I'm doing all i can to grow it out now and I have to just pin it up most of the time. Lets say I won't be going to any hairdressers in a hurry! Lol
While we were there Priya's cousin Anisha from Hyderabad came over for a weeks holiday, so we all went to Amber fort together at night and then drove up to Nargarh fort and you can see the most amazing view of Jaipur from there especially at night.
After losing
Me and AnishaJust before going to Angara (not much of a night club)!
out on both our trips, me and Mike decided to go on a short trip to Bikaner. So this time we didn't book any tickets and just went to the bus station on departure time and boarded the bus.
I couldn't believe we were actually on our way out of Jaipur to see the most fascinating temple in the world The Rat Temple...
