Our first day in India
Our first day in India
Since it took us 2 days to get to Delhi and another day to get to Jaipur, we considered April 18 as our official first day in India. Though we arrived in Delhi the previous night, we didn’t want to count it as part of the tour as we only slept at the hotel and checked out immediately after breakfast.
So, really, today is our first day in India.
And today, we get to see everything in broad daylight.
And today, we get to give our first impressions of India.
By 9am, we were picked up by our driver, Khumar, in his Toyota Innova. Following our instructions the previous night, he brought with him several strings to tie our luggage with, which were all placed on the car’s top load. Yes, we are going to travel again. Our first day in India won’t be spent touring around Delhi. Since a lot of the monuments are closed on Mondays, we decided to use this day instead to travel for 5 to 6 hours to Jaipur, one of the three cities in India’s usual tour package, the Golden Triangle.
As soon as all our luggage were safely tied to the top load, and us, seated comfortably inside the car, we made our way to the office of Visit Beyond, our travel agent, which was at the same street as our hotel. There, we met Mr. Vineet who helped us exchange our USDs into rupees. We also paid off our 50% balance for the tour we booked.
