Once in a while, usually before bed poems pop into my head. Most of these were write while I was in Japan, but there are some from ADAMAH, and one or two from India. Enjoy!
Turning
Hazy September morning,
Existence passes by,
Yet I turn towards you.
Divine Consistency
During the Highest Days of Tishri,
While change is spreading,
Your love remains constant.
Prayer Through Action
On the Holiest of Days I remind myself,
Prayer is spoken through action,
You are not required to finish the work,
Nor are you free to do nothing.
Love or Fear
In their last days,
The old speak of You,
Do their words come from a place of love,
Or from a fear of the end?
Responsibility
In the end,
We cannot ask,
Why have You failed us,
But why have we failed each other?
Dust
At the time when winds blow the strongest,
I need You the most,
For nothing more than a pile of dust am I,
Easily blown away.
Change?
On that summer day,
I left my crib,
Alone I must be,
Will I change?
Longing
Though I have never known your warmth nor felt your smile,
I long for you,
When will we become, one flesh, one heart, one mind, one soul,
My beloved?
Inspiration
I cannot do this alone,
I can tend a seed in the earth,
But only You can inspire it to grow.
B’Shem Ha-Shem
Blessed are You, my God, Creator of those who love and support me,
who protect me from evil,
Inspire me to act,
Enlighten my mind,
And heal me from sickness,
May we always be blessed by Your Presence,
May you bless them forever,
My Angels.
The Overlook
A hawk carelessly soaring,
Hills encircle around,
All the colors of heaven are here,
Where is my beloved?
Make It Work
Dear,
When we both began this relationship
We both knew that each moment wasn’t going to be filled with
Ecstasy,
I don’t know about You,
But I say,
Let’s try to
Make
It
Work
Brackish Waters
I am trapped in the desert,
The last time I’ve had a drink I cannot recall,
And there’s no fresh water in sight.
There are times when I pass pools of cool, clear water,
But I am no fool,
For those are brackish waters.
True they will wet my parched mouth,
But I am left thirstier.
No matter how long it takes,
I’ll wait for the sweet waters of the
Oasis.
