Well we've finally made or way to Mumbai, the last stretch of hectic city before we head off to Goa fo rthe beaches...FINALLY!!! We left last night at 12:00am, by bus, for the city. We got here arond 9-10am, and I'm glad to say I finally was able to sleep a bit on the bus.. for the those you know me well, I can't sleep on any type of transportation and most of ours was done overnight, so you can imagine how tired I have been in teh past few weeks. I think I may have slept 3 hours or so, not bad. We were the only tourist and women on the bus which made for a lot of stares.. LOL. Or driver was a maniac, I didn't think we'd make it alive or in one piece that is. LOL But luckily we did.
Arangabad was really nice (well teh ruins that is). We went to see Ellora caves which are all craved within a montain, made thosands of years ago. (sorry the letter "U" isn't workign very well, so it may be missing in some words). They are buddhist temples within teh mountains all caved by hand adn

Carolyn sitting in it's magnitude.
they are immense. Amazing to say the least. But we were so tired that we only spent a few hours visiting them as we had a long journey to get there. A full 24 hrs on buses (or maybe more who knows). Arangabad, the city is not mch to see. Nothing to do there, so we got a room for the day just to pt or bags adn take a shower and nap then left that same night for Mumbai, which I for got to mention we almost missed our bus. We decided to take a nap 'til 10pm adn Carolyn set her wrist watch to wake us up... well it didn't and the bus was scheduled to leave at 10:45pm.. she woke up at 10:42 in panic and we jusmped outta bed (thank goodness our bags were packed) threw the bags on, left the keys in the room, jetted ot the door and told teh "concierge" we left it in the room. I bargained for a rickshaw to teh station adn we were there within 10 mins of waking up, not bad eh? Well we didn't miss it, gotta sometimes love the punctuality in this country.. LOL WE finally

left at midnight as previously mentionned.
So back to Mumbai, we're here in this stench ridding, filthy, hectic, noisy, etc... city. We havent' seen mch of it yet as as soon as we fond a room (an expensive one for the hole it is) we went to eat then crashed (slept) for a good 3-4 hours. Then we ate dinner, and now I'm here. WE're staying by the India Gate next to the water, but we can't realy see anythign from or hotel. The stares and things are definitely not as bad as other cities we've been too, it's a more modern city. Women dressed in regular clothing, men dressing somewhat a little better here, but not by much.. LOL For those who've been to India, I'm sure you know what I mean. Some people seem to be stuck in the 70's here, I never thought you cold still buy genuine 70's clothing these days.
Anywa, we're here for 2 nights and hopefully we get a ticket for teh boat ride to Goa as we have no interest in taking a bus or being on a waiting list for a good seat on the trains. Boat would be
nice and more scenenic. Crossing our fingers.
The Jelly or Delhi Belly is finally gone... thank goodness, still havent' ventured with dairy prodcts though.. LOL
"til next time..
