What a luxurious entrance into India...living it up in style in the first class lounge in Singapore and then the good ol' 'In-laws'....I will start from the beginning...
Had a good flight from Sydney to Singapore....where Kylie was waiting for me at arrivals....not only with an excited scream but with a ticket for us to go to the first class lounge!! Not being a regular 'First class Lounger' myself, I was very excited to see the huge array of lavish foods and beverages laid out for us!! Thinking this could be the one and only chance we'd have of palatial living, we fully lived it up and made the most of it!! That Lounge didn't know what had 'hit' it!!
Arrived in Mumbai....and were nicely greeted with 'the in-laws'....(bit of a story, but I thought i was so organised for this trip, until I realised that I didn't have anywhere to stay in Mumbai when I first arrived at midnight!!). I started searching the net and phoning locals that had no idea what I was talking about....but to no avail! Then I remembered I'd spoken to a guy 6 months ago that lived in Melbourne and he'd said
that he had relatives in Mumbai and should I need any help, to give him a call.....so I did.....and am so very glad I did!
We ended up staying at this lovely couples house and they treated us like queens! They had about 4 servants......who cleaned our room everyday and made us food at anytime of day! We tried the traditional foods....and they kept feeding us more and more food! We couldn't refuse!! hehe! They also showed us all around Mumbai and went to a few places out of the ordinary!
It is a pretty mental city...and I think without their wonderful kindness and hospitality, it would have been quite a different experience.....so I'm just glad (and very grateful!) that it worked out how it did!
Disco CabsWe were loving the Retro style taxi decor - all we needed was a martini and some flares!
