Before about 10 kms from Sangama you will find a signboard for chunchi falls to go towards left. After going for about 6 kms on rural road you will find chunchi falls. The Waterfall Chunchi fall is located on river Arkavati. The waterfall is nestled among the amazing ranges of rocks. You can park your vehicle in the open field there and walk inside the rocky area. The area is definitely risky and you will find some warning sign boards at the entrance. Initially you will find a straight cut way to walk down for about 300 meters. Then you will find a canal bridge. ... read more

How to reach there If you are going from Bangalore you have to first go to Kanakapura and then take the road going to Sangama/ Mekedatu. Although there are many busses to Kanakapura, there will be fewer busses to Mekedatu. It may be convenient to go by own vehicle. After going to Kanakapura you have to leave the highway at Kanakapura and take a left turn for Mekedatu. The road here looks like a narrow lane (although widened afterwards) and is not easily recognized. It is better to ask people there for confirmation. Once you get the road, you have to move straight without any confusion. Bangalore to Kanakapura 60kms, Kanakapura to Sangama 30+ Kms, Sangama to Mekedatu 4 kms, total around 100 Kms (one side). Sangama the Confluence of Rivers Sangama is the confluence of ... read more

Heaven on earth...well almost.... is how i would describe Kothnoor. Been going there since i knee high to a grasshopper and have many many memories associated to many small things there. It was in Kothnoor that i first mastered the art of putting mummy to sleep during the afternoons and running away to play...Oh well...that's another story. Someone in The Kollegal Family got a brainwave to unite all the multifarious, diffused; siblings, progeny's etc...etc...under one roof. The Trip: Ravi and me (gladly) missed this part, but rest of them people had been to Talakad on a little pilgrimage. Raghu clearly got a chance to do some nice wildlife photography. Ravi and me left Bangalore by noon and picked up beer at the usual spot. I don't need to say it...we reached before them. Everyone enjoyed a ... read more

PIBV does India! Emily G here. I’ve been a bit isolated from the rest of the crew for the past week, so I just wanted to recount my adventures! On Wednesday (5/16), we all went to see a kendra meeting, which has already been described. We interviewed a couple existing clients of GK just to get a sense of their interest in additional loan products and to pilot the questionnaire we wrote. Afterwards, Vikash and I ventured out alone to interview potential clients. I mistakenly assumed that he had a list of people he was interested in interviewing - instead, we drove around until we had a gut feeling that we should pause to take an interview with a local businessman. It seems that Vikash has a knack for judging people - the person (boy, ... read more
