The Building

This is the building I live in located in the Koramangala area of Bangalore. The building has 3 units. I am located on the 3rd floor (that is the 2nd floor in india, the bottom is referred to as the Ground Floor).
Hi everyone,

I have moved to Bangalore and am loving it.

Here are some pics of my apartment. I will try to get some more pics of Koramangala, the neighborhood I live in, soon.

Bangalore is a big city and it is a definite change from Trivandrum. I have moved from one of the most conservative states to one of the most liberal and progressive. In Bangalore you don't need a female partner to jump on the dance floor. I'm really enjoying the great restaurants around my neighborhood and the fact they are all open until at least 1130pm, this not only accommodates me but the college crowd and young techies that call Bangalore home.

I joined a local gym and am getting back into the routine of things. I work out in the morning and work from home. I don't have my car in Bangalore. I currently have my associates working some different angles ;) to get the car in my name, then it can cross state lines. I miss the Marutti.

I am working on getting a local bank account because the foreign transaction/ATM charges are killing me. To get the bank account I

My place sits on top. It is basically a little apartment built on the top roof of the building.
first need to register with the local police commissioner and I am still working on the 5 different forms with 5 attached passport size photos, two copies of my passport and visa and of course a local sponsor who is willing to put their name on the line for any trouble I get into while in India. And something in my gut still tells me that when I show up there is going to be more paperwork and when I finally submit the paperwork it will magically disappear.

And I thought the bank would welcome my money with open arms?? But that's fine all of this is probably in place to keep money away from terrorist organizations.

Speaking of terrorist. Security has become quite tight. There has always been a metal detector at the mall, but recently they have added a guy with a rifle and a full patdown for everyone entering. I see this as a good thing and by no means am I complaining.

Enjoy the pics

Paul

Here is the outdoor terrace are. I need to get a little patio set up here to enjoy the 75-80 weather in the day and the 70-75 evenings. I have wifi so it's going to be my new office. The tree in the background is called Flame of the forest and it is gorgeous. The photo does it no justice so do a google image search.
