To start off with… First of all, JULEY 😊 Well, that’s ‘Welcome’ in Ladakhi. Actually it can be any greeting - hi , bye, good morning, evening, anything really ! BTW La-Dakh means ‘Land of Passes’. Kind of mini temples on roadsides, these colouful structures are all over Ladakh. When you rotate the centre, the bell rings loudly - really loud !

Gompa is monastery. Thiksey is on the outskirts of Leh.

In Nubra valley. Regret not visting these big gompas. Hope to visit in the next trip !

It is brand new, built by the Japanese. The artwork here is very exquisite.

Ladakh has lots of 'first's and 'highest's. This is the world's highest polo ground !

Funny to see a liquor shop at a police checkpost, that too selling "English" and Desi stuff !

Every town in Ladakh has a Lama (priest), who has to be these for all religious ceremonies.

Such naturallly formed mountains are all over on both the Manali and Srinagar routes to Leh.

It was pleasing to see such colours amid arid mountain terrain.

Great place to camp around !

Had minimal facilities. This was the road for 25 kms. Despite that there were many tourists.
