New Delhi Railway Station
My son enjoying his lolipop JAI MATA DI
26th JANUARY ' 2012 We were too excited for this trip, atlast the comes when we have to move for journey, all the packings have been done, this time I arranged a pithoo bag for trekking, which was really helpful. We started from
Harinagar at 6pm. We prefered Auto that day, being Republic day, traffic was at its minimum and we reach 2 hrs before the actual departure time of our train that is Jammu Rajdhani at 8.40pm. By 8 pm train was at platform, and right at 8.40 pm it departed. By 9.30 dinner was served and is above average but soup was excellent. This was the first time, I had booked a berth for my 5 year old son and was serious doubted whether he will sleep there or the berth will remain vaccant. But to my surprise he himself decided to sleep on his berth. But the whole night we were checking him whether he is sleeping in the right posture or not as this was the first night , he was not sleeping with us.
27th JANUARY ' 2012 Our train arrived at right time i,e 5.40 AM
at
Jammu Tawi station. This time we prefer for a bus to
Katra which charges us Rs 45 per head. Approx. we started from Jammu at 6.45 Am and in way a big jamm was waiting there, after that a half an hour halt and at last by 9.45 we were at Katra. There we booked
Hotel Kapoor Palace, which cost us Rs 750 per night. Rooms were good but needed to be repainted. Location is good. Taxi stand, auto stand, bus stand, yatri parchi counter are with in 2 minutes walk. The only drawback was lot of traffic noise. We move for our breakfast cum lunch at 12.30pm and after that we move to
helipad by auto which was 2 km away from there and auto charges Rs. 60 for that. We have alredy booked our tickets in advance with Global Vectra, There services are pathetic that's why people prefer Pawan Hans. We got our flight by 1 hr delay at 3.40pm and this time we were lucky because after this flight helicopter half an hour break. This is our first helicopter flight ever and we were too excited for this. My wife and kid got their seat right
with the pilot and he offer walnut and raisins to my kid. The journey was too exciting but was for short duration. In helicopter photography was banned but we took some at
sanjhichat.
Sanjhichat temperature was much lower than katra. From there, the distance for
Bhawan is approximately was 2.5 km, which took about 1 hr time. By 5 pm we were at
Bhawan. Here I want to thanks one of my student Ankit and his family because of them, I got the passes for gate no 5 and get a good darshan of holy pindies of mata ji though the orignal gufa was closed. Then at the very exit point I went to the
shiv gufa which is 90 steps down, but returning was tedious due to these steps. Ther we took some rest and refreshment and then by 6.45 pm, we started our trekking for
Bhairav baba mandir. By this time, there was sudden drop in temperature, that our body starts freezing. But due to continue trekking our body returned to normal temperature. Trek was not in good shape due to snow and shit of ponies. Due to snow the way was shrinked more than half. At this
time my son starts tiring, but all the way we tried to motivate him by fullfilling his wishes with chocolates, toffees, chips etc etc. and by 8 pm we were at
Bhairo baba mandir. Here we see a huge rush as aarti ended at that time only,By 9pm we got a good darshan and we proceed to
ardhkunwari via
sanjhichat. As the trek was descending so no much problem there. At
sanjhichat we took half an hour rest took some refreshments and starts trekking down to
ardhkunwari. By 10.15 pm we were at
ardhkunwari. We here took half an hour rest and enquired about the darshan, they told us that it will took approx 3 to 4 hrs. one to one and half hr waiting time then 2 hrs approx in the line. As our son was too tired, unheartedly we decided to skip this darshan and all the way to
darshani darwaza we took some rest, some photography, some refreshments, encouraging our son all the way, we reach there at 12.45 am.
28th JANUARY ' 2012 Auto's are easily available here but this time there charges are too high. He ask for Rs. 60 and to wait
for other passenger, we ask to move than he told us that the charges will be Rs 150 atlast Rs. 120 is decided and we were at our hotel by 1 AM. In morning we book Ambassodor from Katra Taxi stand which charges us Rs. 820 for airport drop. On the way we ask driver to give a 10 minutes halt at raghunath bazzar so that we can purchase parshad. Driver was very helpful and did not charge anything for that. By 1 pm we were at airport. One important thing to note, one have to go for extra security checks than any other airport in India. They will ask you to identify your luggage just before loading it to the plane and if you failed to identify, they will not load it. Flight was at the right time. As this was the first flight for my kid and my wife they were very excited. Flight landed at right time at delhi airport and from there we took taxi and reach home by 4pm. This is my fastest trip ever to vaishno devi, In this trip we were back to delhi in 43 hrs only. And vaishno mata ji keeps
all the grace all over the time.
