Augusta Point
Augusta Point - Kendle's main office is on the fourth floor
Per multiple requests, here are some photos from Kendle and my hotel!
Kendle has two offices in Gurgaon at the moment: Augusta Point and Sushant Towers. Within the next month, we will all be located in a new office in Cyber Park. I'm in the Sushant Tower office since my team is there. The entire office is not much larger than my last personal office and there are 9-12 of us working there! We have one printer/scanner/fax machine, but only one person can atually connect so we save files on jumps drives and then borrow his lap top when we need to print. We work on VPN all day which is better some days than others. There's not a lot of room and since I sit in front of the printer, people often use my desk or move my stuff. Once or twice, people have even used my pen! As some of you know, I'm pretty picky about my pens and brought my own supply of Pilot G2s over here so it was a bit of a shock the first time someone used my pen without even asking! Another thing to get used to... We have an office attendant who

gets us whatever we need and also keeps the office clean. If you lay a piece of waste paper down, it's gone before you know it. There's a 10 year old boy who brings masala chai (hot spiced tea) around several times a day. He knows that I like mine without sugar so now he carries two pots when he comes.
Everyone at Kendle has been very nice and welcoming. They are appalled that I bring granola bars for lunch so they share their food with me. We also have snacks in the office - mostly biscuits (cookies) and chips, but sometimes samosas or ice cream. People try to speak English when I'm around, but not if I'm uninolved in the conversation. I only really notice when I hear my name in the midst of a sentence. As long as there's no laughing, I'm OK with it. I'm getting used to being stared at or ignored in public. I've seen a few western men in the hotel or in a restaurant, but not another woman.
I'm staying at the 32nd Milestone Resort which is an interesting place. There's a hotel plus three restaurants (Indian, Chinese, and the Roadside

It's very popular and they do a good business. Ganesh keeps an eye on things and I have a quick word with him on my way in and out. My room is fine with a flat screen TV with cable and HBO plus there's free wireless. There are a few critters and my karma has taken some hits as I haven't been fully able to implement my "catch and release" policy. A few things have been released into the hallway if no one else is around. The staff is friendly and it's been a good place to stay. I'm anxious to get into my own place, though. More on that soon - I don't want to jinx anything so I shall not say another word right now.
