A couple of colourfully dressed beach hawkers.
After a short hiatus in the UK (thanks to everyone who looked after us) we headed out to Goa for a few weeks relaxing and chilling on the beaches in the sunshine. It was great to spend time and have a few laughs with our friends Sarah and Steve, who were on holiday in Goa, including a particularly funny episode when David was wandering about with his "swimming pants" inside out (well at least he had some on this time!).

We really enjoyed all the fantastic food that India has on offer and never got tired of eating the delicious curries or the freshly baked roti bread. A regular treat was to sit in the shade on the beach watching the sunset with a Kingfisher beer.

For us, we really were quite lazy and didn't do a great deal but spent most of our time on long walks along the various beaches, having a swim in the wonderfully warm sea, and sheltering from the ferocious midday sun at beach shacks.

We did visit various night markets for the obligatory shopping expedition and spent a day touring the churches, chapels and convents in Old Goa.

We preferred south

Whichever beach you headed for, the cows would always beat you to it!
Goa to the north, its quieter and more rural; a favourite view being the buffalo grazing in the paddy fields and the various cows sunbathing on the beach.

Well all that relaxing won't do so we are now off to Nepal for 4 weeks for a trip that includes lots of trekking and taking in the majestic mountain scenery.

Goa
I am so glad that you got to Goa to Goa! Glad that your time there was relaxing, and it evidently prepared you for your adventure to Nepal. Please pray with some monks on mountain tops for me. It is a place I dream of going to some day. Will you be in Bhutan? I forgot if you said that you would or not! Write when you can, and thank you for posting photos and details of your unbelievable journey!! It brings me great joy to see where you've been and where you have yet to go. Shari

Back into it ...
Hello Boys! Glad to hear you've settled straight back into the traveling lark - all sounds marvlious! Think I'm most jealous of this one - India and Nepal ... so high up on the to-do list. But! That will have to be back-burned now we're buying a house! Enjoy the trip and keep the updates coming - love to keep up with the goings on. Look after yourselves (and each other :o)! Big hugs GGx
