Hello!

This blog is from our latest trip abroad ~ a visa run we did back in November so that Melanie could get her new E-6 work visa! We only needed two working days to accomplish this task, so of course we added that onto a weekend so we could have a few extra days in one of our favorite cities ~ Hong Kong!

On this trip, we did the usual things people do in Hong Kong ~ shopped at the wonderful (and at times, completely overwhelming) street markets, ate some fabulous cuisine, and took in the Laser & Light Show that takes place every night at 8pm! But, we also did some new things, too, which included going to see the Giant Buddha on Lantau Island, and spending a day in Macau! (Hey, it was even a new stamp in our passports!!) There, we spent most of the day at The Venetian ~ Macau, which is currently the largest hotel & casino in the WORLD! Now, Larry and I have both been to Las Vegas on more than one occasion, but this hotel was unbelievable! (Imagine putting about 3 or 4 of Vegas' hotels together into one and

you have this particular gigantic hotel!) We also got to see a new Cirque du Soleil show there called "Zaia" ~ which was GREAT! There was also a "Big shopping sale," which we were quite disappointed in...their "sale" was mostly name brand stuff, but in my opinion, if you can't find anything under $200...it's NOT A SALE!

After lunch and "Zaia," we headed out to Senado Square in downtown Macau where we walked around and took in some of the lovely Portuguese architecture (Macau used to be under Portugal rule, hence the Portuguese influence)...it was especially lovely at night with all of the lights and fountains here. Finally, we hopped a ferry that would take us back to Hong Kong and our hotel.

All in all, a great trip to a spectacular city!

Love,
Larry & Melanie

Laurence Buckley & Melanie Buckley
Hello World, Our journey started on February 16, 2005, when we met in New York City. We became inseparable from the very first day we met, began dating, fell in love, and moved in together in SoHo, N.Y.C. Our lives, now intertwined, took a very adventurous turn as we moved to Japan. While living in Japan for a year I (Larry) taught English as a second language in Shin Uryasu-shi and Melanie was Ariel in a performance of 'The Little Mermaid' at Disney Sea in Tokyo. After Japan, we realized how much we enjoyed traveling and decided to move to South Korea. During our first year in Sout... full info
