Its a bugger this one.
Been a busy day.. again. It seems that the norm is an 11 or 12 hour day, sod that for a game of samurai warriors!
I'll tell you something, the people here, and particularly the staff at work, are some of the most genuine people one would wish to meet.
They will ALWAYS put the guest first, the height of politeness.
We were taken out to lunch (again) to a noodle house. Its the first time that I have walked into a place and all faces turned to look. We were the only westerners in the place, and to make matters worse, they moved some locals so that we could have the best seats. In Bradford or Leeds we would have been taken out for a good kicking put the movees were graceful in defeat. How embarrassing! Oh yeah, £2 each for a beef noodle lunch with coke.
Dinner was something else (apart from being an hour too late due to work!)
We were taken out, along with 6 other people from work ( I think they were happy for the IT boss to pay!) to a local eating place. Sorry, I can't bring myself to call it a restaurant. But it is just the place I wanted to come to.
It looked a real dive. I'm sure that health and cleanliness came quite low on the agenda, with some "wildlife" crawling across the table, but the food was gorgeous. The photos are posted on "Day 5". Anyone for chickens head?
Its late, gone midnight, so I'm going to bed. And my laptop battery has just 9 mins left.
I'm missing my family desperately, make no mistake about that. But I wouldn't, and couldn't, miss the experiences we have been through.
Looking forward to seeing the dragon boat racing at the weekend. Its on the river which is just a 5 min walk from the hotel. Photos, I'm sure, will follow.
I very much look forward to seeing my family, and my friends, soon. Good god, I ain't done a week yet. But time is going fast, so I will soon be home
Take care my friends
