Being that I was ill over the past few days, I haven't took many electrifying pictures. I did, however attend a wedding, had dinner with family friends and took the first family photo since I've been back. We don't really take a lot of photos like we use to when I was younger.
The wedding was at a catholic church and it was beautiful. The entire ceremony was in Chinese which surprised me because a) the couple are English-speakers born Chinese and b) I've never heard a catholic wedding ceremony in Chinese. It's like the time when I went to see Shakespeare in Chinese three years ago and I was baffled by the use of language and syntax. I was completely confused but fascinated. Intimidated but curious.
Family dinner was at a Japanese restaurant on the 13th floor of Langham Place, which is a shopping centre with the most puzzling yet amusing architectural design. Unlike many restaurants, the 13th floor is actually quiet with the Japanese restaurant along with a Spanish restaurant and other genre of restaurants that I can't remember presented in a very welcoming space. The view from our seats can be traumatising for a someone who
has acrophobia.
My thoughts on the architectural design of Langham Place are as follows: we like to shop but we get bored of the same shops and designs. Not Langham Place. The lower part of the mall is comprised with well-known stores such as Le Saunda, Kiehl's, H&M which is perfect for the international crowd. However, the upper level is built almost like a maze with local boutiques that seem to attract the youth of Hong Kong. It's also tight in space compare to the lower level but it is how we like it.
